Job Description

Overview The Safe Beds Technician performs all duties relevant to providing direct care for individuals received into the facility for crisis services. SB Technicians are responsible for maintaining a therapeutically safe and secure environment through close and courteous interactions with clients that may be intoxicated, withdrawing or in mental health crisis, in normal and potentially volatile circumstances. SB Technicians are required to handle multiple tasks occasionally under high-stress conditions. Serves as the Intake specialist and is the first point of contact for clients entering the facility. Other duties as assigned. SB Technician evaluates circumstances of each intake (as reported by individual and referring agent) and determines acceptance. May serve as interim shift supervisor as needed. Job description available upon request. Duties Provide direct supervision for all clients participating in all services, to include monitoring forbehavioral needs/changes and medical or mental health symptoms. Maintain professional boundaries with clients while modeling appropriate behavior by treating allwith respect and dignity. Complete admission and discharge process of clients. Encourage rules and program compliance through positive incentives and apply disciplinaryconsequences as needed. Complete detailed incident reports as required. Intervene in disruptive and dangerous client behavior, utilize verbal de-escalation skills and act as a member ofresponse team able to physically restrain out-of-control clients. Respond to medical and mental health emergencies and when appropriate refer clients to for either further care management or law enforcement intercession. Administer breathalyzer (PBT) and report and record test results. Attend and participate in shift briefings, staff meetings and trainings as assigned. Perform related duties as assigned by supervisor. Maintain compliance with all company policies and procedures. Greet all clients and referring agencies at the single point of entry. Establish and maintain positive rapport with clients and agencies entering the facility. Assist referring agencies in accurate completion of paperwork/intake requirements, allowing them to leave in a timely manner. Gather pertinent information related to the request for admission/services. Determine acceptance of the client based in policy and procedure. Complete required paperwork and place in designated location, entering intake and admission information in to the computerized record keeping system. Additional duties as assigned by DFA. Qualifications Graduation from high school or its equivalent. Sufficient experience to understand the basic principles relevant to the major duties of the position, usually associated with the completion of an apprenticeship/internship or having had a similar position for one to two years. Must be able and willing to complete on the job training and obtain and maintain certifications in: First Aid & CPR, Narcan user certificate, Mental Health First Aid. Must successfully pass a background check. Some computer skills helpful. Must respect and safeguard non-public confidential information. Must possess a valid Montana Driver License and must be an insurable driver.
Pay:
$17.50 - $18.00 per hour
