QUINCY SCHOOL DISTRICT
Safety and Security Officer Supervisor:
Assistant Superintendent Salary Range:
$60,000-$70,000
Location/Assignment:
On Campus Conditions of work: 190 days
SUMMARY:
The Safety and Security Officer (SSO) will provide the necessary leadership, coordination and oversight to develop, implement, and maintain the District safety and security plan and other safety and security related functions within the school district ensuring a safe and secure educational environment to promote academic success. Maintain compliance with State, Federal, local, and District Safety & Security requirements. The SSO will supervise the building-level emergency response programs and provide coordination for school security staff. The SSO will collaborate with District and building administrators and staff to provide the necessary education and training to ensure the general welfare and safety for all students and staff. In conjunction with the supervisor, SSO coordinates the school crisis response programs in cooperation with the community and emergency service providers.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Display ethical and professional behavior and all times Provide supervision of parking lots. Provide supervision of hallways and campus areas. Assist Administrators with discipline related situations. Provide supervision of students in a variety of settings. Assist with fact-finding for discipline related situations. Confront misbehavior on and around campus. Maintain records of non-student and other contacts that may be important to campus safety. Work with staff when appropriate. Ability to interpret as needed if the individual possesses multiple language skills. Exhibit excellent attendance and punctuality. Other duties as assigned by the Building Principal, Superintendent, and Asst. Superintendent?
GENERAL QUALIFICATIONS
High school diploma or G.E.D equivalent. Pass required trainings - WA HB1214 mandated training for school security personnel Specialized training in crisis response, active shooter, de-escalation, emergency preparedness, violence prevention, substance abuse, investigation Current or the ability to obtain First Aid/CPR/AEDs certifications. Completed Training or ability to complete
FEMA ICS
courses 100-700. Ability to establish and maintain effective, cooperative, and positive working relationships with students, parents, and fellow staff members. Possess a valid Washington State Driver's License with a demonstrated safe driving record. Bilingual Spanish/English preferred.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Previous and/or current Law enforcement commission and experience. Possess the ability to, and willingness, to carry a weapon at the discretion of the superintendent per WA State Law. Knowledge of security procedures. Ability to maintain records. Ability to apply appropriate discipline in accordance with district policies and procedures. Ability to establish and maintain positive relationships with local law enforcement agencies. Willingness and ability to work extra-curricular activities.

Ability to gain respect and confidence of students and community through the modeling of Appropriate behavior, methods and attire. Ability to meet and maintain punctuality and attendance expectations. The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
