Job Description

Company Overview Copeland Electric Co., LLC is seeking a dedicated and experienced Safety Coordinator to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in construction safety management, strong knowledge of OSHA regulations, hold a Board of Certified Safety Professionals Credential, and the ability to promote a proactive safety culture across multiple job sites. This position is responsible for ensuring the safety and well-being of employees while implementing and maintaining safety programs that meet company, client, and regulatory standards. Position Summary The Safety Coordinator will oversee and support all aspects of jobsite safety for electrical and industrial construction projects. This role involves conducting inspections and audits, facilitating training and toolbox talks, identifying and mitigating hazards, investigating incidents, and ensuring compliance with
OSHA, NFPA
70E, and applicable state and local regulations. Key Responsibilities Safety Program Administration Plan, implement, manage, and maintain comprehensive environmental health and safety programs at project sites. Promote company safety policies, risk management initiatives, and safety assurance procedures. Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations, CFR 29, 1926 standards, NFPA 70E, and applicable state and local codes. Continuously communicate with the Safety Director regarding safety concerns, trends, and corrective actions. Jobsite Safety Oversight Conduct routine and frequent jobsite inspections to identify hazards, enforce procedures, and promote safety awareness. Make frequent tours of worksites to observe work processes and procedures while engaging employees and coaching safe work practices. Identify hazards and coordinate mitigation efforts utilizing the hierarchy of controls. Perform and document daily safety observations and reports, including corrective actions. Inspect and audit Job Safety Analyses (JSAs). Audits and Compliance Perform monthly audits and inspections including: Rigging Inspections Fall Protection Inspections Assured Grounding Inspections Temporary Power/GFCI Inspections Arc Flash PPE Inspections LOTO Inspections Ensure all employees are properly trained in safety policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements. Maintain safety documentation and records in accordance with company and regulatory standards. Training and Communication Conduct new hire orientations and ongoing safety training programs. Recruit and train workers on proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and safe work practices. Lead daily and weekly toolbox talks relevant to current jobsite activities. Communicate safety expectations, procedures, and best practices at frequent intervals. Foster a positive safety culture through coaching, mentoring, and employee engagement. Incident Management Properly document workplace accidents, illnesses, and injuries. Conduct accident and incident investigations and determine root causes. Manage case follow-up and corrective action processes. Recommend and implement preventive measures to reduce future incidents. Qualifications Minimum of 5 years of experience in industrial or construction safety. Electrical construction experience preferred. Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations, CFR 29, 1926, NFPA 70E, and applicable safety standards. Ability to conduct incident investigations and root cause analysis. Strong leadership, organizational, multitasking, and time management skills. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Positive attitude with the ability to train, mentor, and lead teams. Proficient with computers, mobile devices, and standard office equipment. High School Diploma or equivalent required. Required Certifications OSHA 30
