Job Description

Job Title:
Safety Manager Job Summary:
The Safety Manager is responsible for developing, implementing, coordinating and monitoring safety programs while complying with OSHA standards in order to prevent or minimize potential for injury and/or financial loss due to an accident or non-conformance to applicable standards. Job Responsibilities Direct and manage all safety programs, policies and procedures necessary for compliance with applicable regulatory requirements. Develop and maintain all company documents for safety, OHSA 300 and 300A logs, and standard operating procedures. Create, coordinate and conduct safety training for plant personnel, including new employee safety orientation training. Promote a culture of safety awareness through leadership and guidance to ensure compliance in all processes and operations in the plant. Lead internal teams, safety related activities and projects. Conduct regular internal safety compliance audits and inspections of the facility and initiate corrective actions to ensure a safe work environment. Support all 3rd party external audits (e.g. social audits) Maintain the site management emergency response plan. Job Requirements Bachelor's Degree in related field or equivalent is preferred. Minimum of 5 years of related experience including safety related position and/or supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred. Extensive knowledge of OSHA and other applicable Federal and State legislations. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Must be able to work independently without constant supervision. Strong analytical and problem solving skills. PowerPoint, Word, Excel proficiency. Ability to work overtime, irregular hours or rotating shifts Bilingual - Spanish/English a plus
