Safety Manager Company:
Quality Plumbing & Heating (QPH)
Type:
Full-Time Who We Are Quality Plumbing & Heating does real work in real places. We provide residential and commercial service and perform new construction on public works projects such as schools, jails, and other municipal facilities. Our crews work in active environments every day, and safety is critical to doing the job right. The Job The Safety Manager is responsible for building, leading, and continuously improving QPH's safety program across all divisions. This role protects our people, our projects, and the company. This is a working, hands-on leadership role. The Safety Manager must be comfortable on jobsites, in trucks, and working directly with foremen, technicians, and leadership. This is not a desk-only compliance position. Safety Authority
  • Has full authority to stop work when unsafe conditions exist.
  • Can remove employees from a jobsite for serious safety violations.
  • Has authority to require corrective action before work resumes.
  • Reports directly to Executive Leadership with independent access when necessary. Key ResponsibilitiesCompany Safety Program
  • Build, implement, and continuously improve QPH's company-wide safety program.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA, DOT, and all applicable state and local regulations.
  • Maintain and update safety policies and procedures as work conditions change.
  • Develop and update JHAs, lift plans, confined space procedures, and related documentation.
  • Maintain SDS records and required compliance documentation.
  • Hold employees accountable for following safety rules consistently and fairly. Jobsite Safety
  • Conduct regular and unannounced jobsite safety inspections across all divisions.
  • Identify hazards and ensure corrective actions are completed promptly.
  • Participate in pre-job planning and risk assessments for higher-risk work.
  • Support foremen and supervisors with practical, field-ready safety solutions.
  • Spend the majority of time in the field, including ride-alongs with service technicians and drivers. Fleet & Driver Safety
  • Oversee and enforce driver safety policies across all company vehicles.
  • Manage vehicle camera systems and related data to identify unsafe behaviors.
  • Use vehicle camera data as a coaching and risk-reduction tool.
  • Investigate vehicle accidents and near misses and lead corrective action.
  • Ensure all required reporting and documentation are completed accurately and on time. Training
  • Train new hires on safety expectations before they begin field work.
  • Provide ongoing safety training for field employees and leadership.
  • Develop and deliver toolbox talks and safety refreshers.
  • Ensure all required training is completed and properly documented. Incidents, Compliance & Risk Management
  • Investigate workplace injuries, near misses, and safety incidents.
  • Maintain OSHA logs and required safety records.
  • Serve as the primary contact for OSHA inspections and audits.
  • Work directly with insurance carriers and participate in annual audits.
  • Assist with claims management and return-to-work programs.
  • Help reduce EMR over time through measurable risk reduction efforts. Safety Metrics & Reporting
  • Track and report
TRIR, DART
Rate, Preventable Vehicle Accident Rate, Near-Miss Reporting Frequency, and Inspection Completion Rate.
  • Provide a monthly safety dashboard to leadership.
  • Set annual safety improvement targets. What We're Looking For
  • 5+ years of construction field experience preferred.
  • Experience in construction safety management, preferably in mechanical trades.
  • Experience building or rebuilding a safety program is a strong plus.
  • Strong working knowledge of OSHA and DOT requirements.
  • Experience managing fleet and driver safety programs.
  • OSHA 30 required;
OSHA 500
preferred.
  • CSP or CHST certification preferred but not mandatory.
  • Comfortable working with both field crews and executive leadership.
  • Detail-oriented, calm under pressure, and consistent.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus. What Success Looks Like

Pay:
$83,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
