Job Description
Overview We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Safety Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring a safe and compliant work environment by implementing safety protocols, conducting training sessions, and performing thorough risk assessments. This position is vital for promoting occupational health and safety standards within the organization. Duties Develop, implement, and maintain safety policies and procedures in accordance with OSHA regulations and EHS standards. Conduct regular safety audits and inspections to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with safety regulations. Prepare detailed reports on safety incidents, findings from audits, and recommendations for improvements. Facilitate training sessions on safety practices, CPR, first aid, and emergency response procedures for employees at all levels. Collaborate with management to investigate incidents and conduct root cause analysis to prevent future occurrences. Assist in the development of training materials related to occupational health and safety topics. Manage workers' compensation claims and ensure proper documentation is maintained throughout the process. Stay updated on industry best practices and changes in regulations affecting workplace safety. Skills Proficiency in report writing to effectively communicate findings and recommendations. Certification in CPR and First Aid is highly desirable. Strong understanding of root cause analysis techniques to identify underlying issues contributing to safety incidents. Experience in training development to create engaging educational materials for staff. Knowledge of occupational health principles as they relate to workplace safety. Ability to fabricate solutions or modifications that enhance workplace safety measures. Familiarity with Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) standards and practices. Comprehensive knowledge of OSHA regulations applicable to the industry. Understanding of workers' compensation processes and requirements.
