Safety Specialist I or II Great Southwestern Construction USD $75,000.00/Yr
- USD $95,000.
THE ROLE
Safety Specialists work closely with field staff, clients and subcontractors, all levels of management, and personnel from external organizations during all phases of electric construction projects. Safety Specialists must be committed to ensuring adherence to safety-related policies, procedures, and regulations while developing positive professional relationships. This is a location-based position encompassing worksites throughout the assigned project area and requires varying amounts of travel. The Safety Specialist will cover project sites in Florida, Georgia, and the Carolinas. Bi-Lingual Spanish/English is highly preferred. ABOUT YOU
Qualifications Minimum 2 years of experience in environmental, health, and safety (EHS) field roles is required High school diploma or GED equivalent is required Minimum of one (1) safety certification is preferred, examples include: Certified Safety and Health Official (CSHO) Construction Health and Safety Technician (CHST) Safety Management Specialist (SMS), Specialist in Safety and Health (SSH), or Certified Safety Professional (CSP) Undergraduate degree in Safety Management or related field preferred; combination of relevant experience and education considered in lieu of degree Knowledge/Skills/Abilities Problem-solving and situation analysis skills Bi _lingual English / Spanish highly desirable Proficiency with MS Office Suite programs, specifically Word, Excel and PowerPoint Effective verbal and written communication skills with ability to influence behavior Strong knowledge and understanding of OSHA and other industry-related safety regulations Must be a team player able to work with co-workers, different departments and outside contacts and maintain strong relationships Attentiveness to details Organizational skills Ability to work independently Basic understanding of electric construction project management practices and procedures Ability to travel for job site visits for extended periods of timeWHAT WE OFFER
Compensation & Benefits Salary $75,000- $95,000 / year Commensurate with experience, paid weekly. Posted salary ranges are made in good faith. MYR Group reserves the right to adjust ranges depending on the qualifications of the selected candidate. Comprehensive benefits package
