Job Description
Responsibility The Safety Technician supports the EHS Assistant Manager in implementing and maintaining workplace safety programs within a high-volume automotive stamping and robotic manufacturing facility. This role is responsible for monitoring daily safety compliance, supporting hazard identification and mitigation, and helping drive a strong safety culture across the plant. Educate associates in multi areas including OSHA standards. Ensure associates skills are to standard for operation of operational equipment. Support (ATA) efforts to promote Corporate Social Responsibility, (CSR) and ensure activities are carried out in cooperation with G-TEKT CSR, and Corporate Governance initiatives and activities to ensure compliance in functional areas of responsibility. Accountable to EHS Assistant Manager Qualifications Associate degree in Occupations Safety, Environmental Health, or related field preferred or 3-5 years equivalent experience. 1-3+ years of experience in a safety or manufacturing environment. Proven knowledge of safety and OSHA standards. Bilingual English/Spanish required. Ability to conduct training. Excellent organizational skills Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite Experience in automotive, stamping, or industrial manufacturing preferred. Leadership Leads by example with strong safety behaviors and compliance. Maintains a visible, approachable presence on the production floor. Proactively identifies and addresses safety risks. Communicates clearly and effectively across all levels. Demonstrates accountability with strong follow-through. Influences safe behaviors without direct authority. Applies solid problem-solving and attention to detail. Stays effective in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment. Promotes continuous improvement in safety practices. Support the implementation of safety programs Work with floor leadership to ensure positive safety culture Service Working knowledge of OSHA regulations and mfg industry safety standards. Familiarity with mfg hazards including robots, stamping presses and material handling Understanding of LOTO, machine guarding and hazard communications Strong observational and hazard recognition skills Ability to conduct incident/accident investigations and document findings clearly Effective communication and interpersonal skills at all organizational levels OSHA 30-hour General industry current or within 1 year of hire date First Aid/CPR certified within 1 year of hire date Support EHS Asst Manager with Safety Team by being a Safety Team Member and conducting monthly meetings Conduct Safety audits of facility Distribute proper safety equipment, (PPE). requirements Operations Perform daily floor audits focused on stamping presses, robotic cells, forklifts, and high-risk operations. Verify compliance with LOTO procedures during maintenance and setup activities. Follow up on open safety issues to ensure timely resolution and proper documentation. Participate in daily production or tier meetings to communicate safety updates and risks. Assist with onboarding and safety orientation for new hires and contractors. Ensure safety signage, PPE availability, and hazard communication materials are current and compliant. Coordinate corrective actions with maintenance and engineering teams for identified hazards. Monitor facility for adherence to OSHA guidelines and elimination of accidents Communication safety issues with EHS Assistant Manager and Floor leadership Assist Floor Leadership, and associates in resolutions for safety issues Attend required or suggested training classes, seminars or other activities to promote safety and expand knowledge of safety practices Physical Requirements and Work Environment Office and manufacturing floor environment Ability to lift 10-40 lbs. occasionally Perform repetitive movements (bending, reaching, lifting) Automotive production facility with robotic automation Exposure to noise, machinery, and industrial conditions PPE required (safety glasses, gloves, steel-toe boots) Other duties as assigned by the EHS Assistant Manager Associate degree in Occupations Safety, Environmental Health, or related field preferred or 3-5 years equivalent experience. 1-3+ years of experience in a safety or manufacturing environment.
