Job Description

Sales Manager Job Classification:
Exempt Company Description Frantz Wholesale Nursery, LLC is a leading grower of container grown trees and shrubs. From our farms in Hickman, CA, we supply landscapers, chain stores, and independent garden centers with a wide range of trees, native grasses, fruit and Citrus, roses and groundcovers. Frantz Nursery's team of nearly 250 wonderful people work to ensure our products are some of the finest in the industry. Frantz Wholesale Nursery LLC takes excellent care of its employees, customers, and the communities it serves while delivering plant material that positively impacts our customers and the environment. The Sales Manager will be responsible for developing and implementing sales strategies to achieve company goals, managing a team of sales professionals, and building strong relationships with key clients. This role requires a strategic thinker with a deep understanding of the nursery industry, strong leadership skills, and a proven track record in sales.
Requirements/Essential Job Functions:
Strategic Planning:
Develop and execute comprehensive sales strategies to achieve revenue targets and expand market share. Analyze market trends and adjust strategies to capitalize on opportunities and address challenges.
Team Leadership:
Lead, mentor, and motivate the sales team to achieve individual and team goals. Conduct regular performance reviews, provide feedback, and implement training programs to enhance team skills and effectiveness.
Client Relationship Management:
Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients, including garden centers, landscapers, and other wholesale buyers. Understand client needs and provide tailored solutions to ensure high levels of satisfaction and loyalty with mass merchants and, E-Com and Garden Center.
Sales Operations:
Oversee the sales process from lead generation to order fulfillment. Ensure the sales team is equipped with the necessary tools and resources to succeed. Monitor sales metrics and performance to identify areas for improvement.
Market Analysis:
Conduct market research to stay informed about industry trends, competitive landscape, and customer preferences. Use this information to adjust sales strategies and identify new business opportunities.
Collaboration:
Work closely with other departments, including marketing, production, and logistics, to ensure alignment of sales initiatives with overall company objectives. Provide feedback to improve product offerings and service delivery.
Reporting:
Prepare and present regular sales reports to senior management. Track key performance indicators (KPIs) and provide insights into sales performance, market conditions, and potential growth areas.
Qualifications:
Experience:
Minimum of 5-7 years of sales experience in the nursery or horticulture industry, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Horticulture, or a related field. Advanced degree or relevant certifications are a plus.
Skills:
Proven track record of achieving sales targets and driving business growth. Strong leadership, communication, and negotiation skills. Ability to analyze data, identify trends, and make informed decisions. Proficiency in CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite.
Knowledge:
Deep understanding of the plant wholesale industry, including market dynamics, product knowledge, and customer needs.
Personal Traits:
Strategic thinker with excellent problem-solving abilities. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build and maintain relationships with clients and team members. Highly motivated and results-oriented.
Must have:
Maintain Milage and Expense Reports for Reimbursement Always follow safe practices while driving for company purposes Vehicle capable of transporting yourself safely. Excellent communication skills, both oral & written Ability to multi-task & pay attention to details is a must Valid driver's license Basic computer skills This position and responsibilities can change or be modified as see fit/needed. This position is full time, M-F, and some weekend work. Salaried Pay $150K-200
K/Year Pay:
$150,000.00 - $200,000.00 per year
