Public Relations is looking for an Account Executive for its Anchorage office. T&C is one of Alaska's largest and most respected PR agencies, with more than 25 years of experience serving clients across a wide range of industries, including travel and tourism, telecommunications, resource development, nonprofits, education, and state and local government. Job duties may include, but are not limited to: Supporting an enthusiastic team of experts as we provide our clients with top-notch service Helping to coordinate a variety of memorable events like trail runs, outdoor concerts, press conferences, and trips across rural Alaska. Working with subject matter experts to create meaningful and memorable content for social media Monitoring the media, including newspapers, magazines, journals, broadcasts, newswires blogs and social media, for opportunities for clients. Using strong writing skills and mastery of AP Style to develop punchy, targeted press releases that get results for our clients. Escorting press trips and client editorial briefings. Assisting with the production of client publications. Coordinating studio or location photography.
Strong candidates will demonstrate:
The ability to multitask and meet deadlines. Excellent verbal communication skills. The ability to brainstorm, think creatively and problem solve with minimal direction. Solid researching skills. Experience with a variety of social media channels. Media pitching to local, state and national journalists. Media list building and maintenance. Attention to detail. Qualifications Applicants should have a bachelor's degree in PR, journalism, marketing, communications, English or related field, or have previous experience in public relations. Experience in a related field may be substituted for a college degree. Account executives should have 3 - 5 years of industry experience in public relations and communications, with agency experience considered a plus. Industry knowledge in the areas of travel/tourism, education, telecom, and/or health care are highly desirable. Previous experience in communications, journalism, social marketing, writing or other creative endeavors is a plus. Candidates with policy, legislative, or local, state, or federal government programmatic experience (public affairs) are encouraged to apply. Knowledge and interest in agency client industries Experience developing messaging and positioning for brands and campaigns. Exceptional writing skills and in-depth knowledge of AP style.
