The Sales Executive is responsible for generating new business transportation revenue through strategic prospecting efforts, including cold calling, email outreach, and on-site customer visits. This role will actively generate revenue by identifying, engaging, and closing new customer opportunities. Once onboarded, new accounts will be supported in collaboration with an Account Manager and a Customer Planner to ensure a smooth transition and strong ongoing service. Sales Executives are expected to consistently prospect within our transportation network, with a focus on building meaningful relationships that foster long-term customer partnerships.
Duties & Responsibilities Leverages internal operational efficiency data and customer performance insights to drive strategic, targeted prospecting efforts.
Collaborates closely with the Revenue Growth Management team to ensure new opportunities align with Red Classic's growth strategy and asset/network capabilities.
Responsible for generating new business revenue through cold calling, email outreach, and in-person customer visits—building relationships that lead to long-term partnerships.
Partners with Customer Account Managers to conduct Quarterly Business Reviews and provides mentorship in identifying growth opportunities and strengthening the sales process.
Maintains a strong understanding of market conditions, competitive dynamics, and transportation trends to proactively position Red Classic as a preferred carrier Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities Minimum of 3 years of transportation sales experience, with a proven ability to drive new business and build strong customer relationships
Comfortable with cold calling—both over the phone and in-person—to generate and engage new customer leads
Strong knowledge of operational solutions with demonstrated customer service excellence and effective negotiation skills
Exceptional communication skills with the ability to sell into new accounts while aligning with internal capacity and strategic growth plans
Proven ability to manage customer relationships while fostering collaboration across sales, operations, and support teams
Proficient in Microsoft Office and other key business applications; strong aptitude for learning internal systems
Clean driving history required for regular customer travel and on-site visits
Experience with Salesforce or other CRM tools preferred Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree (4 years)
Knowledge acquired through 3 to up to 5 years of work experience Preferred Qualifications Bachelor's degree with course work in business and/or marketing or equivalent job related experiences is preferred Work Environment
