JOB SUMMARY
The job of the Coatings Adhesives Sealants Account Manager is to lead sales and account management as well as new business development and general growth activities with assigned accounts and in assigned territories in North America with some global account activity as needed. Coordinate applicable programs with other regions globally, interface with the technical organization, define needs of customers and help identify and create new growth projects. Also, further develop existing solutions with the goal to maintain as well as aggressively grow customer base, sales, turnover and profitability in area of business. The Polyurethane Dispersion & Polyurethane Polymer Materials Account Manager is expected to be the customer's first point of contact and key problem solver for all customers in a specific region, taking responsibility for excellent best in class customer satisfaction.
Requirements:
Become an expert in dispersion and elastomer performance, prepolymers, curatives, and other technical aspects resulting in consultative selling and partnering expertise for our customers. Explore new market areas as part of cross functional strategy teams. Seek a strong understanding of unmet needs of customers and markets and focus development efforts to exploit these. Partner with R&D and Applications driving developments for customers. Develop strong customer relationships and manage a significant portfolio of materials for these customers. Solely responsible for achieving best-in-class customer satisfaction as well as maintaining and growing sales & profitability in assigned territory according to annual goals. Extensive travel of min ~75% to existing and new customers as well as industry trade shows for opportunity hunting and developing strong customer relationships. Provide trip reports and highlights to the organization.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
This position requires a BS or higher in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Polymer Science, or a business administration degree with past exposure to the chemicals business or similar.

This is a leadership position leading diverse groups of people who may not directly report to Polyurethane Dispersion & Polyurethane Polymer Materials Account Manager. A high degree of ownership and willingness to push and close business against a variety of obstacles is key to success, while being a good team player and open communicator. High tolerance for ambiguity, tight timelines and aggressive competition are important - high drive to hunt, close and win in a competitive marketplace as part of an entrepreneurial team. Requires excellent communication skills. Individual needs to be approachable by customers and employees with a wide range of backgrounds and skills. Willingness to develop solid knowledge of the product portfolio, polyurethane chemistry, processing needs and pitfalls. Ability to recommend specific products and processing. Ability to conceptualize new PUD & prepolymer formulations for particular needs.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Experience or familiarity with polyurethane materials or similar. Deep expertise in the principles of chemicals & materials sales, pricing, negotiating. Min of 5 years of relevant professional experience. Demonstrating successful track record of achieving above GDP sales growth. Additional language skills.
