Job Description Help for Job Description. Opens a new window. Job Summary Coordinates, communicates and expedites the flow of work and materials within or between departments and customers. Duties include reviewing production, work, and shipments schedules; conferring with department leads, supervisors, and managers to determine progress of work and completion dates; compiling reports on progress or work, inventory levels, costs, and productions problems. Essential Job Functions Examine contracts, materials, and products, and monitor work processes, in order to assess completeness, accuracy, and conformance to standards and specifications. Review documents such as production schedules, work orders, and staffing tables to determine personnel and materials requirements, and material priorities. Confer with department supervisors and other personnel to assess progress and discuss needed changes. Communicate schedule revisions when required due to design changes, labor or material shortages, backlogs, or other interruptions, collaborating with management, sales, production, and engineering. Confer with establishment personnel, vendors, and customers to coordinate production and shipping activities, and to resolve complaints or eliminate delays. Develop recovery plans to include required amounts of labor and materials, manufacturing costs, and wages. (using excel) Compile information, such as production rates and progress, materials inventories, materials used, and customer information, to complete weekly/monthly customer and internal reports. Communicate with customers daily to provide status and technical information Support in customer program reviews as necessary
Desired Competencies:
Deep skill sets in MRP (EPICOR, SAP, or other) Strong working knowledge of manufacturing operation and processes Strong understanding of contracts and compliance Strong skills in MS Suite (Excel and PPT in particular) Strong verbal and written communication skills Customer first mentality Ability to constructively influence others to achieve goals Gets along well with others (strong interpersonal skills) Comfortable in a wide variety of settings and stakeholders Intellectually curious Problem solver/Solution oriented/Results oriented Effectively influences others to get things done Considers all inputs and variables prior to making a decision Gains buy-in from those involved in the value chain Operates with high level of integrity Inspires trust in others Demonstrates good judgement and decision making Requirements Bachelor's Degree with 3 years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and years of experience. Must be able to work any shift, overtime, weekends and flexible hours as required. Must adhere to Company policies/procedures and management instruction. Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information and Company Proprietary data. Some travel may be required
Work Environment:
Primarily works in a manufacturing setting with exposure to machinery and production equipment. Requires standing for extended periods and occasional lifting of materials. Physical Requirements:
Primarily manufacturing/assembly environment. Must be able to work in the following environmental conditions: noise, vibration, proximity to moving mechanical parts, moving vehicles, electrical current. Must be able to bend and reach. Must have close visual acuity such as viewing a computer terminal, extensive reading, visual inspection involving small defects, small parts, and/or operation of machines, and/or assembly or fabrication parts at close distance to the eyes. Must be able to communicate effectively. Must be able to maneuver up to 20 pounds. Will be performing substantial movements (motions) of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers.
