The Sales Account Manager is responsible for driving growth through a technical, field‑based sales role focused on selling defoamer and antifoam solutions into sugar, ethanol, soda ash mining, and other manufacturing environments, while providing hands‑on support to meet customer process and performance needs.
Primary responsibilities include:
Own and grow a defined sales territory with a strong focus on new business development, account expansion, and sustained sales growth. Develop and execute strategic territory and account plans in partnership with sales leadership to achieve annual revenue, margin, and customer retention objectives. Identify, pursue, and close new business opportunities, including new customer acquisition and increased penetration within existing accounts. Provide technical expertise and application support to customers and prospects, delivering hands‑on service, troubleshooting, and solution‑based recommendations. Design and implement customer programs that leverage Hydrite's manufacturing capabilities, distribution network, and financial strengths to create long‑term value. Analyze sales performance, track historical data, prepare quarterly business summaries, and forecast annual volumes for customers within the territory. Prepare timely and accurate chemical treatment proposals, service documentation, call reports, and technical service requests. Maintain accurate and up‑to‑date customer and prospect records in Salesforce CRM to support pipeline management and reporting. Collaborate cross‑functionally with internal teams, including operations, purchasing, and supply chain, to ensure customer satisfaction and reliable product availability. Monitor competitive activity, respond effectively to market threats, negotiate pricing, and implement strategies to improve margins. Travel extensively throughout the assigned territory to support customer relationships, on‑site service, and business development efforts.
REPORTING STRUCTURE
This position reports to the Sales Director
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE
College education and prior sales and/or technical experience preferred. 5+ years of sales or related technical experience preferred. Ability to construct a business plan with Sales Manager assistance. Must have a valid driver's license and have an acceptable motor vehicle driving record. Must possess computer skills and be proficient at Word, Excel, and PowerPoint and job specific software. Must have communication and interpersonal skills, along with the ability to read, write, and speak English.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Ability to attend meetings. Ability to sit, work at a computer terminal, and/or talk on the telephone up to 4 hours at a time. Ability arrange and execute overnight travel to customer sites
JOB EXPECTATIONS

Perform all duties outlined in relevant SOPs and all other duties to be assigned. Work with other staff members to maintain workload balances. Provide back-up support as necessary. Support effective communication with all Hydrite departments where responsibilities overlap to ensure success of the branch team.
