Job Description

Technical Account Manager for Growing Manufacturing Plastics Company Job Description We are seeking a skilled Technical Account Manager to join our team. This role involves developing a deep understanding of our products and services, creating compelling technical content, and collaborating with various teams to drive successful product launches. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background and experience in technical marketing or a similar role within manufacturing. Responsibilities Develop a deep understanding of our products/services, their technical aspects, and their applications in the market. Create compelling technical content such as whitepapers, case studies, technical blogs, and product datasheets to educate and engage our target audience. Work closely with the sales team to develop technical sales tools and collateral that effectively communicate the value proposition of our products/services. Conduct market research and analysis to identify trends, customer needs, and competitive insights that inform marketing strategies. Collaborate with product management and engineering teams to plan and execute successful product launches, including positioning, messaging, and go-to-market strategies. Support customer-facing teams by providing technical expertise in presentations, webinars, and customer meetings to drive sales and customer satisfaction. Work with the digital marketing team to optimize technical content for SEO, SEM, and other digital channels to increase visibility and engagement. Essential Skills Experience in the plastics industry is a must. Proven experience in technical marketing or a similar role within manufacturing. Strong technical background with the ability to understand and articulate complex technical concepts effectively. Additional Skills & Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Engineering, or a related field. Experience using CRM technology. Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to tailor messaging to different audiences. Demonstrated success in developing technical content and sales enablement materials. Analytical mindset with proficiency in market research and data analysis tools. Team player with strong interpersonal skills; ability to collaborate effectively across departments. Creative thinker with a proactive and problem-solving attitude. Work Environment The position is onsite, Monday through Friday, 8-5pm, with some travel to trade shows (1-2 times per year). Reporting directly to the CEO, you will work in a small office environment in Lake Bluff, with only a few people onsite. The role could eventually move to a hybrid format. This specialized manufacturing environment blends technical expertise with real-world impact, offering exposure to complex projects and opportunities for professional growth. Job Type & Location This is a Permanent position based out of Lake Bluff, IL. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $85000.00
