Job Description

Fort Wayne IT Solutions is an established, growing, managed IT service provider for small to mid-size businesses where you would gain exposure to the latest and greatest technologies (virtualization, cloud computing, cybersecurity, remote monitoring and management tools). We want to expand our team to support our growing client base. Once you join our team, your time will be devoted to assisting a broad range of audiences with a wide array of technical challenges both remotely and on-site. Technical experience is important; however, strong work ethic, commitment to quality work, integrity, team unity, and excellent communication skills are equally important. Responsibilities Serve as a point of contact for customers seeking technical assistance over the phone, email, or in person. Perform remote and on-site troubleshooting for endpoints and accounts using diagnostic techniques and effective questioning. Visit client locations to install or replace computers, IT peripherals, or network equipment. Assist clients with troubleshooting involving software and third-party support providers. Manage and secure Active Directory endpoints and accounts. Manage and secure Microsoft 365, Entra ID, and Intune endpoints and accounts. Install and configure VPNs. Implement and maintain endpoint protection, patching, and access control policies. Respond to system monitoring alerts. Assist with maintaining detailed records of endpoint and account configurations. Work directly with vendors for hardware replacements, warranty claims, and support. Help develop and enforce MSP best practices and standard configurations across clients. Interface with client contacts on technical issues, recommendations, and follow-up actions. Work with internal teams to develop processes that improve security, technical excellence, and efficiency. Be willing to invest time in technical education. Maintain professional presentation and appearance. Key Qualifications Proven experience in an IT support role or other applicable role Demonstrated troubleshooting skills in a fast-paced environment Good judgment and the ability to effectively prioritize work Ability to work independently, in person, as a company representative Ability to work as part of a team to help accomplish larger goals and projects Excellent customer service skills: communication skills (both verbal and written) Attention to detail: punctuality, scheduling, documentation, record keeping, etc. Knowledge of cybersecurity best practices and configuration for endpoints and accounts Knowledge of email account administration Knowledge of the latest Windows desktop and macOS operating systems Knowledge of basic Active Directory account administration Knowledge of IT peripherals (printers, monitors, input devices, etc.) Knowledge of fundamental networking concepts (DNS, DHCP, VPN) Bonus Qualifications Knowledge of advanced networking concepts (VLANs, switching, routing, wireless and wired, etc.) Knowledge of leading virtualization technologies Knowledge of Microsoft 365 endpoint and account administration (Exchange, Entra, Intune, Purview, Defender, Azure, etc.) Knowledge of email protocols, and advanced troubleshooting techniques Knowledge of MDM platforms for management of iOS devices Physical Requirements Must be able to stand, walk, and sit. Must be able to move up to 50 lbs. Use hands to handle or feel; reach with hands and arms. Climb stairs and ladders and maintain balance. Stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, talk, and hear. Must have close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, and the ability to adjust focus. Must have a valid driver's license, be able to drive a car, and travel to the Fort Wayne IT Solutions office. Must be able to perform all listed job responsibilities during the hours of 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday through Friday. The right candidate must be able to lift 50 pounds, have a modern smartphone that can be used for MFA, have a reliable personal vehicle, a valid driver's license, and valid auto insurance.
