ABOUT THIS OPPORTUNITY
We're a growing landscape company in the Manhattan, Kansas area looking for an experienced Senior Account Manager to take ownership of our maintenance division's client relationships — and help us grow them. This is not an entry-level position. We're looking for someone who knows the landscape and turfgrass industry, can walk a property and spot what others miss, keeps clients loyal through proactive communication, and isn't afraid of a renewal or enhancement conversation. THE ROLE
You own the client relationship for an assigned book of maintenance accounts. You protect retention, identify and close enhancement opportunities, drive renewals at target pricing, and ensure every client feels valued and well-served — while our production team handles execution. ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES CLIENT RELATIONSHIPS
Serve as the primary point of contact for all assigned accounts Conduct a minimum of one property walkthrough per account per quarter Communicate proactively — seasonal reminders, service updates, weather impacts — before the client asks Handle client concerns within 24 hours, every time Build trust and loyalty that leads to referrals, long-term contracts, and renewals at full value
REVENUE GROWTH
Identify and present enhancement opportunities during every walkthrough — mulch, plantings, seasonal color, irrigation upgrades, drainage, and more Prepare and close enhancement proposals on assigned accounts Initiate contract renewals 60-90 days before expiration at target pricing — no last-minute scrambles Generate referrals and introductions to new prospects from within the existing client base
ACCOUNT HEALTH & RETENTION
Monitor account health and satisfaction signals Flag at-risk accounts early and execute a retention strategy — don't wait for the cancellation call Keep CRM current — every interaction, preference, enhancement opportunity, and renewal status logged Ensure client expectations align with contract scope and pricing at all times
CROSS-TEAM COLLABORATION
Partner with the Production Manager to ensure service delivery meets client expectations Communicate client feedback to the operations team and close the loop Support onboarding of new accounts — intro calls, site tours, expectation setting ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
2+ years in account management, sales, or a client-facing role Direct experience in the landscape or turfgrass industry — required Demonstrated ability to identify opportunities and close enhancement or upsell proposals Strong verbal and written communication — professional, clear, and timely Comfortable with pricing, proposals, and consultative selling conversations Proficiency in CRM systems and proposal/estimating software
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Background in landscape maintenance account management or service sales Turfgrass science, horticulture, or related education or certification Familiarity with LMN, Aspire, Jobber, or similar landscape business software Proven track record hitting retention and revenue growth targets in a service business Existing professional relationships in the Kansas landscape or property management market ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
