This PE Supervisor position serves as a Sales Representative and is responsible for sales of PE's products and services. This position offers an opportunity to interact with PE's existing customer base and the opportunity to acquire new customers. Serving as the face of the agency this position travels across the northern region of Louisiana showcasing PE's array of products. Essential attributes are reliability & time management, strong communication and interpersonal skills, adaptability and an understanding of PE's products, customer base and customer needs. EXPERIENCE SUBSTITUTION
Every 30 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will be credited as one year of experience for a maximum of four years. The official job specifications for this role, as defined by the State Civil Service, can be found here .
Job Duties:
As a Prison Enterprises Supervisor, you will oversee daily enterprise operations within a correctional setting, ensuring efficient production, staff supervision, and compliance with safety and operational standards while supporting workforce development initiatives for offenders. In this role, you will: Drive sales of Prison Enterprises (PE) products by identifying prospective customers, assessing business needs, and presenting tailored product solutions. Build and maintain strong customer relationships to support continued growth and long-term partnerships. Promote PE products and services through direct outreach, customer engagement, and sales presentations. Contribute to the financial success of the agency by supporting revenue generation in a fully self-funded operational environment. Travel statewide to correctional facilities, customer locations, and business meetings as needed. Support operations for an organization with approximately 66 employees, more than 30 cost centers, and manufacturing operations across seven correctional facilities and a headquarters office in Baton Rouge. Play a key role in maintaining the agency's self-sufficiency and long-term operational success as an Enterprise Fund agency.

PROMOTION OF A PERMANENT, CLASSIFIED LOUISIANA STATE EMPLOYEE
Current permanent status classified LA State employees may be required to accept a probational appointment if accepted. An employee selected for a promotion may be required to serve a trial detail prior to being permanently promoted. This posting may also be used to fill a vacancy as a temporary job appointment. If filled as a temporary job appointment, should a permanent position become available, the employee may be converted to a probational appointment.
Compensation:
This position also offers premium pay at a rate between $.50 and $1.00 an hour for each regular hour worked, based on years of service with DOC.
