Job Description

JOB DESCRIPTION
Summary/Objective The Assistant Account Manager supports the Sales Department in maintaining and growing existing and/or new accounts. This role assists in building and sustaining relationships with OEMs and other key customers, helps identify growth opportunities, and ensures smooth coordination between internal teams and external partners. The Assistant Account Manager contributes to delivering high customer satisfaction and operational excellence. Essential Functions Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. Assist the Account Manager in developing and executing plans for maintenance and growth of existing and/or new accounts. Support cross-selling and upselling initiatives under the guidance of the Account Manager. Help collect and relay customer feedback to internal teams to support the creation of value propositions. Conduct basic margin and cost analyses and provide preliminary input for pricing strategies. Support communication and coordination efforts between internal teams (engineering, operations, finance) and customers. Monitor market and competitor trends; provide insights to the Account Manager for account strategy refinement. Prepare and maintain accurate records, including call reports, meeting notes, itineraries, and monthly reports. Help organize and participate in customer meetings, workshops, and strategy sessions. Assist in proposal preparation and coordination of negotiation processes for supplier and customer agreements. Monitor account-related delivery schedules and support efforts to ensure on-time, high-quality delivery. Help manage collections processes in coordination with internal teams. Participate in learning activities to build knowledge of existing and new products, as well as customer business dynamics. Supervisory Responsibility This position does not have supervisory responsibilities. Work Environment Professional office setting. Proficiency in computer systems and familiarity with internal IT tools (PLM, OA, CRM) is preferred. Physical Demands Must be able to talk, hear, stand, walk, and use hands for handling small items or equipment. Position Type/Expected Hours of Work Full-time position; core hours between 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Occasional evening or weekend work as needed. Travel Travel expected up to 20%-30%. Required Education and Experience B.S. degree from an accredited university. 1 to 3 years of total working experience, with at least 1 year in a sales or customer-facing capacity Preferred Education and Experience Experience in the automotive or manufacturing industry preferred. Basic understanding of APQP or willingness to learn. Soft Skills Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Organizational and time management abilities. Analytical and problem-solving skills. Results-oriented with a focus on supporting team objectives. Professional demeanor and customer focus. Work Authorization/Security Clearance Must be authorized to work in the United States. Must be able to obtain and maintain a valid passport.
