Jordan Logistics is a freight brokerage headquartered in Natchez, MS and sister company of Jordan Carriers. Together, the organizations have become one of the fastest growing truckload transportation and logistics companies in the South. Overview The Carrier Relationship Manager is responsible for the coverage of freight into their assigned region on a daily basis. This includes identifying partner carriers (trucking companies), matching available truck capacity to available loads, negotiating competitive prices, and booking all available shipments that Jordan Logistics has committed to servicing. The goal is to develop a high performing carrier network by identifying strategic carrier partners, documenting their relevant business preferences, and matching Jordan Logistics opportunities to carriers' preferences. Carrier Relationship Managers will develop mutually beneficial working relationships with partner carriers and provide best in class carrier experience to become the preferred brokerage partner for carriers. Key Responsibilities Responsible for covering all freight shipments to assigned region, and support other regions as needed Prospect new carriers in assigned region and identify potential strategic carrier partners Engage with carriers to learn about their business and gain understanding of what types of lanes and business to offer the carrier Document carrier preferences to drive future lane matching Gain insights on market conditions based on pricing and feedback provided from carriers to become a market expert in assigned region Negotiate competitive pricing with carriers to book available shipments Assign and tender loads to carrier partners based on negotiated rates Use data driven resources to make informed carrier procurement decisions Troubleshoot issues with booked carriers as needed Collaborate with Customer Account Managers to provide market information to help win new opportunities Hold carrier partners accountable for providing desired service levels by conditioning carriers to proactively communicate potential delays and problems Drive carrier adoption for digital tracking at the point of sale Key Accountabilities Ensure coverage of all loads inbound to assigned region Ensure tracking information and updates are documented in every booked shipment Documentation of partner carrier booking preferences within assigned region Provide consistent, reliable carrier experience Set and manage expectations with partner carriers on how Jordan Logistics operates from a service perspective Key Competencies Based on the essential and other duties and responsibilities of the position, the Procurement Representative should have a number of professional skills and abilities, including: Strong work ethic Competitive nature Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment Good interpersonal and customer service skills, well-developed verbal and written communication skills, and the ability to work both as an individual contributor and a team member Sound organizational, records management, time management skills, and attention to detail The ability to effectively prioritize responsibilities, meet assigned deadlines, and manage the related stress Ability to negotiate rates to ensure loads are booked for competitive pricing Ability to develop mutually beneficial working relationships with partners Comfortable negotiating price in a business setting Compensation Salary range of $45,000

Associate degree preferred but not required. Experience with Microsoft Office, including Excel and Outlook.
