Job Overview Incredible opportunity to join the sales team at Kings County Distillery, New York City's oldest, largest, and premier whiskey distillery. Founded in 2010, Kings County makes handmade bourbon, rye, and other whiskeys in the heart of the Brooklyn Navy Yard. We are one of the most reputable and awarded independent craft distilleries in the country. With a focus on integrity & transparency, Kings County Distillery can be counted on as a true craft spirit, grain to glass. Position Summary . We are seeking an enthusiastic full-time Upstate NY Sales Representative to join our growing sales team. The person in this role will be responsible for executing all aspects of the Kings County Distillery portfolio plans in their assigned market(s), find new business, build relationships, and ensure key account activations. We are looking for someone excited to devote their days to working closely with NY's best restaurants and retailers and use shrewd judgment and gumption when it comes to building their own territory and schedule. This role calls for someone independent, efficient, and effective. Kings County is one of the only self-distributed brands in the state and also boasts a beautiful onsite tasting room and bar. This is an incredible opportunity to launch your career and absorb three tiers of the business at once. You will have a home base at our distillery to work closely with our entire team. And better yet, this space is yours to showcase to your growing customer-base, while being encouraged to enjoy working from your accounts whenever possible. Responsibilities of the
Role:
  • Building strong relationships by sharing the story and spirits of Kings County Distillery
  • Prioritizing in-person visits to accounts to gain market perspective and trust.
  • Assist in determining limited release allocations while strongly prioritizing a core portfolio
  • Deliver polished sales presentations to potential customers and loyal clients while balancing customer's wants and company's needs
  • Serving as key contact and relationship for account/customer orders and questions regarding products, prices, and availability.
  • Managing a large account base of on and off-premise customers, keeping track of buyer/manager turnover, and other pertinent details relating to our customers.
  • Conducting in-store tastings, staff trainings, and coordinating distillery visits for key accounts.
  • Work closely with the Chief of Sales and rest of the sales team to determine local sales strategies and activations
  • Daily field work is a must.
This role would consist of one admin day a week, but the rest of the role demands in-person visits.
Skills & Experience Requested:
  • 2+ years' experience working with a spirits brand or wholesaler in beverage category or equivalent work experience in hospitality industry
  • Strong face-to-face sales/negotiation skills. Candidate must possess incredible people skills and the ability to anticipate a customer's wants and needs
  • Candidate should have a strong ability to self-regulate when it comes to scheduling & allocating budget to accounts
  • Candidate should be a self-starter and must exhibit a very high sense of urgency, be well organized, possess a great attitude, be a team player
  • Candidate can be trusted to build strong working relationships with all internal and external stakeholders
  • Candidate should have strong passion and support for independent spirits, craft cocktails, and boutique retailers
  • Candidate must be emboldened by the opportunity to work for a leading independent craft distillery and be committed to investing significant time and energy into their career
  • Candidate must possess the ability to work hours necessary to complete assigned tasks, including variable start/end times
  • Bachelors Degree preferred, but not required
  • Driver's license and vehicle required Competitive Base Salary + Commission + Incentives & Bonuses
  • 80,000-110,000/yr
OTE Benefits:
As a regular employee of the Company you will be eligible to participate in a number of Company-sponsored benefits. You will be eligible for health, dental, and vision insurance of which the company will pay 50% of the cost before taxes, pending a 30 day waiting period. You will also be entitled to 80 hours of Paid Time Off (PTO), provided such dates are subject to approval by management, plus company holidays.
Pay:
$65,000.00
