RESPONSIBILITIES
GENERAL:
Ensure each program day follows the schedule given/developed, supports given are consistently offered at the highest quality standard, as defined by CQL. Help people supported discover their preferences, build relationships, and utilize community resources. The position is primarily one of a leader to assist/coach staff to ensure the highest quality of supports are being given.
JOB DESCRIPTION SUPPLEMENT RESPONSIBILITIES
In promoting the mission of The Arc, all employees shall: 1. Attend and participate in all training as required and requested by the agency and expand professional expertise through participation in in-services and conferences. 2. Maintain complete confidentiality of the individuals we support, their families, employees and the organization as a whole. 3. Attend all scheduled staff meetings and/or individual meetings as appropriate. 4. Provide and maintain a valid driver's license if driving is a requirement of the position. Communicate any changes in driving record immediately. 5. Understand what constitutes abuse, intervene and report it to the appropriate parties immediately. 6. Avoid any activity while on agency premises or while engaging in agency business, that is (or gives the appearance of being) illegal, including a violation of criminal and/or civil law as well as federal, state or agency policy, rules or regulations, or that could in any way harm or operate to the detriment of the agency and/or the individuals we support. 7. Provide crisis intervention and prevention services as appropriate and assist the individuals we support in evacuation of a crisis situation. 8. Assist in lifting and maneuvering the individuals we support as needed. 9. Act as a role model for the individuals we support; this includes but is not limited to modeling appropriate interactions and respect toward all as well as advocating appropriately on their behalf. 10. Promote the health and safety of all staff and individuals served by informing their supervisor of any unsafe procedure and/or condition that they become aware of. 11. Communicate effectively with appropriate agency staff to ensure consistency in the implementation and follow through of the philosophy and mission of the Agency. 12. Act according to the agency mission statement and ideals. 13. Provide willingness to work overtime hours when requested by supervisor. Be prepared to work at another location if requested. In addition to the above, all supervisors shall: 1. Supervise all staff, provide an example of an appropriate role model, complete all required discussion points in a timely fashion, interview for vacancies as needed, provide staff with an opportunity to meet at least monthly and counsel staff as required. 2. Ensure that all employees that report to them receive the training and personal protective equipment necessary to do their jobs safely and that safe work practices are always followed. In addition, supervisors must ensure that a thorough investigation be conducted immediately should any staff reporting to them become injured while working on-the-job. 3. Ensure the effective timely implementation of agency policies throughout the department, providing periodic review to ensure that the intent of policies is met. In addition, recommend the need for and participate in the development and revision of agency procedures as appropriate. 4. Develop and monitor program budgets, keeping within established agency allocations. These supplemental sheets contain responsibilities that are applicable to all staff and should be considered a permanent attachment to each agency job description.
SPECIFIC
The Day Habilitation Supervisor shall: Provide supervision/coaching to the staff and people supported in expanding to improve/expand relationships in the person's life as well as increasing role valuation and acceptance. Assist in development and implementation of Staff Action Plans. This includes understanding and as back up, sometimes attend as a representative of the department at life plan meetings as well as developing, reviewing, updating staff action plans and safeguards. Demonstrate creativity in designing, implementing and coordinating community activities. Develop and maintain effective working relationships with additional community friends, family members, and other supports to ensure continuous and effective provision of supports and to help advocate. Ensure accurate and timely completion of waiver documentation in accordance with regulations and/or management requests. This includes the monthly documentation. Also requires monthly reviews of staff notes, to ensure all are meeting regulatory and department requirements. Ensure all supports identified in the Life Plans and Staff Action Plans are created within the regulatory standards and in the highest quality. Create any needed tracking systems to ensure this. Use a critical eye to ensure the physical environment, equipment, and vehicles are consistently being used effectively, is user friendly and maintained in a clean, hygenic and professional manner based on the established standards of the regulations, agency and department. Make any changes necessary. Assist with develop and implementing strong systems to ensure all needed supplies are consistently kept easily accessible, such as hygiene supplies, extra clothes… Must be certified in administering medications. Motivate the direct support staff to ensure the continuous and effective provision of supports by taking an active leadership role, including modeling, daily positive/constructive feedback and coaching them to success as defined in the Direct Support Core Competencies. The Supervisor uses teachable moments with the staff daily to help ensure top quality staff supports are given. As well as being timely with all needed follow up, including core competencies, time sheets, training, discipline… Acts as a representative of staff and program, bringing concerns/issues with the program, staff or people supported to their direct supervisor immediately. Always using this role with a goal to improve the quality of the supports given. Assist with ensuring maximum, accurate billing is consistently met and optimized. As a representative of the agency's Management team, must always maintain a positive, motivating demeanor at all times. Must conduct conflict resolution whenever need arise in a supportive, professional manner. Active member of various agency committees. As a leader in the department, responsibilities will often extend outside of the above, based on need or assignment by Supervisor.
QUALIFICATIONS
High School Diploma/GED required, Associates or Bachelors Degree preferred. Two years of experience supporting people with intellectual disabilities to include experience with leading and/or coordinating Community/voluntary activities preferred. One year supervisory experience preferred. Valid drivers license required.

Basic computer skills. Must also be able to demonstrate through action and relationships within the organization, a commitment to teamwork and the agency mission.
HOURS:
Generally Monday-Friday 7:30-4 varies based on need, 40 hours per week.
