Job Description
Hardware Rental Lead Part-Time E&H Ace Hardware is seeking a motivated and customer-focused Hardware Rental Lead to manage the rental department's daily operations. This role ensures excellent customer service, maintains rental equipment processes, and fosters strong customer relationships.
What You'll Do:
Answer rental inquiries via phone, providing rates and quotes Write and maintain daily contract, reservation, and customer charge files Check rental equipment in and out daily Schedule rental equipment pick-up and delivery Track and update daily overdue rental list Train customers on proper use of rental equipment Load and unload rental equipment safely Address and resolve customer complaints professionally Train store employees on rental procedures Service and maintain rental equipment functionality Maintain inventory of rental merchandise, showroom displays, and parts Provide Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) and written instructions as requested Attend training classes and obtain certifications for operating and servicing equipment
What You'll Bring:
Education & Experience High school diploma or equivalent required; some college coursework preferred Extensive product knowledge of rental equipment or a strong willingness to learn Sales and marketing experience in retail, promotions, or one-on-one sales preferred Skills & Knowledge Excellent communication and organizational skills Strong analytical skills and pricing knowledge with sound decision-making ability Proficiency with retail computer systems, MS Word, and Excel preferred Ability to multi-task, pay attention to detail, and work collaboratively Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
Physical Requirements:
Ability to stand for extended periods Ability to lift and move boxes and rental equipment throughout the store Perform all physical tasks required for the role
Licenses and Certifications:
