Sensitive Position No Job Description The Student Account Specialist is responsible for ensuring accurate processing, reconciliation, and reporting of student-related financial transactions. This role supports students, staff, and external partners by providing clear communication and exceptional customer service regarding tuition, payments, and financial processes. Key ResponsibilitiesFunds Management:
Collect, process, and balance State, Federal, and Local funds, ensuring all receipts are accurately credited to the appropriate funds and accounts.Reporting & Documentation:
Prepare daily cash settlement reports and maintain organized, complete files to support a clear audit trail.Reconciliation:
Reconcile accounting entries, identify discrepancies, and resolve errors to maintain the integrity of financial data.Customer Service:
Answer and direct phone calls; communicate regularly with internal and external customers using strong verbal and written communication skills to address questions regarding financial processes or concerns.Policy Application:
Apply and interpret existing financial policies, regulations, and procedures with attention to potential financial impacts on the agency and students.Student Support:
Assist students with inquiries related to tuition, billing, and payments, providing accurate guidance and support.Classified:

KSA's/Required Qualifications Ability to research, analyze, reconcile and evaluate financial and operation data. High computer literacy, including advanced use of Microsoft Office Suites, including Excel, Word and Outlook. Proficient in cash handling, basic math, and data processing while ensuring compliance with state rules and regulations Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with customers, colleagues, and cross-functional teams. Strong organizational and multitasking skills to manage competing priorities during deadlines and academic and fiscal cycles. Additional Considerations Knowledge of state rules, regulations, policies and procedures Excellent written communication skills, with the ability to develop, edit and maintain detailed procedural and process documentation. Working knowledge of internal controls, compliance standards and higher education financial regulations. Ability to reconcile financial transactions, research discrepancies, and ensure date integrity across financial and student information systems.
