Position Summary The Technical Account Manager role is a client-facing expert that ensures clients successfully use complex products to meet business goals. This role acts as a trusted advisor for technical support, proactive problem-solving, training, and driving satisfaction, retention, and growth through strategic guidance and deep product knowledge. Essential Job Functions- Serves as the main point of contact for existing core accounts in a designated territory and identifies new targets for growth.
- Conduct frequent planned visits, interacting on a recurrent basis with key customers.
- Provides deep technical support, troubleshoots issues, and guides clients on product implementation, configuration, and best practices.
- Proactively identify opportunities for clients to gain more value, suggest upgrades, and align technology with business objectives.
- Support sales efforts by highlighting features, driving adoption, and identifying upsell/cross-sell opportunities.
- Act as a conduit for customer feedback, relaying insights to development teams to improve products.
- Educate clients on effective product usage, often through dedicated training sessions.
- Grows earnings per designated sales goals. Qualifications Education
- Bachelor's degree required with a preferred area of study in Business Administration, Marketing, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, or related technical degree. Experience
- Minimum 2 years' sales, technical, lab, customer support, or inside sales experience. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Strong technical aptitude in relevant products/industry.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to translate technical information to non-technical audiences.
- Problem solving and analytical skills.
- Relationship management and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (MS Excel and MS PowerPoint in particular).
- Strong time management skills and the ability to prioritize work. Preferred Qualifications
- Experience selling chemical or technical products.
- Experience with distribution sales.
- Experience with Salesforce. Work Environment & Physical Requirements
- This role is hybrid, rotating between in-office and remote work environments. Access to reliable internet is a requirement.
- This position requires up to 50% travel. Frequent travel is both local and outside the local area. Some travel is overnight.
- This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
