Non-Exempt SUMMARY The Equipment Specialist is responsible for the inventory control and maintenance of medical equipment, and their related accessories and purchases.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
include the following: Identification labeling of all major medical equipment. Create and maintain files of equipment inventory. Keep logs of equipment repairs, maintenance of medical equipment, and update log within one business day of repair/issue. Oversee equipment repairs (shipment and return of equipment sent to remote repair services). Assist in contract renewals for certain medical equipment maintenance contracts. Responsible for ordering nitrous oxide refills. Responsible for outgoing shipments for any/all MCHD personnel who request shipments to be made for MCHD business purposes. Weekly check of fire extinguisher inspections for ambulances. Schedule, coordinate, and assist equipment vendors when on premises for repairs and maintenance of equipment (stretchers, monitors, defibrillators, etc.). Keep records of equipment borrowed by other interest groups such as fire departments, MCHD training personnel, special events, disasters that are not assigned for daily use in the 9-1-1 system. Clean and disinfect MCHD owned medical equipment before being sent for repairs to outside vendors. Assist with budgeting for yearly capital medical equipment needs. Maintain established reporting system for lost and broken medical equipment and their replacements. Report missing, stolen or unauthorized movement of equipment to Materials Manager. Maintain adequate stock of DME accessories and request POs for ordering to Materials Manager. Request invoices and POs for Preventative Maintenance and/or repairs for DME. Backup to the Warehouse Tech in the area of receipting POs in the Accounting Software. Close out resource tickets and Laserfiche Broke/Missing Equipment forms pertaining to DME items. Maintain restock bags for items dispensed for the COLO machines. Training of supply technicians on documentation of issues and returns of equipment. Other duties as assigned.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
No supervisory responsibilities.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
High school diploma or equivalent. Knowledge of EMS equipment and supplies or demonstration of ability to learn supplies and equipment at a satisfactory pace. SKILLS and
KNOWLEDGE
Moderate word processing, database, and spreadsheet skills required. Basic E-mail and internet skills required.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Current Texas Driver's License. Remain insurable by the current insurance vendor of
MCHD. NOTE
