Radford City - Main Campus Job Description Reporting to the Account Resolution & Outreach Manager, the Account Resolution Specialist provides high-quality customer service and performs daily student account maintenance with oversight to collections, student refunds and other duties as required. Additionally, this position will also perform accounting functions that require a thorough knowledge of departmental operations. Required Qualifications Knowledge of bookkeeping/accounting principles and practices. Ability to analyze fiscal transactions for conformity with procedures and regulations. Knowledge of financial/accounting and standard Microsoft Office applications. Ability to work effectively with a wide variety of people. Ability to maintain composure in difficult situations. Strong attention to detail. Strong verbal/written communication skills. Demonstrated organizational and prioritization skills, along with the ability to work within tight and often conflicting deadlines. Must be flexible, show effective judgement, discretion, and have the ability to handle confidential financial matters.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with Banner and Nelnet
  • Student accounts, collection, or accounts receivable experience in a higher education workplace setting.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with other departments and diverse stakeholders in a dynamic higher education environment.
  • Education and training in accounting or a related field with an accounting certificate preferred or multiple years of applicable accounting/higher education experience.
