Job Description:
The Government Account Representative drives technology sales within federal, state, and local government markets. This role manages the full sales cycle—from identifying opportunities to closing deals—while ensuring compliance with public‑sector procurement requirements. Success requires strong relationship‑building skills, a proactive sales mindset, and the ability to collaborate across internal teams to deliver competitive, compliant solutions. Key Responsibilities Public Sector Sales — Builds and manages relationships with government agencies to drive technology sales and support mission‑aligned solutions. Full Sales Cycle Ownership — Leads opportunities from lead generation through contract award, including quoting, forecasting, and proposal development. Deal Management — Oversees government opportunities end‑to‑end, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely execution. Technology Knowledge — Maintains strong understanding of current vendor technologies and emerging trends to effectively position solutions. Lead Generation — Identifies and qualifies new opportunities through research, networking, and procurement platforms such as SAM.gov and FPDS. Pipeline & Forecasting — Keeps CRM data and forecasts current to support revenue planning and business visibility. Marketing Support — Executes targeted public‑sector marketing efforts, including webinars, events, and digital outreach. Customer Follow‑Through — Demonstrates persistence, overcomes objections, and maintains strong engagement throughout the sales process.
