Job Description

How You Will Contribute Account Management & Client Success Develop, execute, and continuously refine strategic account plans for an assigned book of business to meet or exceed client retention goals. Build trusted advisor relationships with employer groups by understanding their evolving business and healthcare benefit needs. Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned accounts, ensuring a high-quality client experience and coordinating timely resolution of operational issues in partnership with internal teams. Document account activities, opportunities, and client insights within the organization's customer relationship management (CRM) system. Strategic Consulting & Data-Driven Guidance Interpret and communicate Alliance data, reports, and performance insights in a meaningful way to employers, brokers, and TPAs. Lead and facilitate Quarterly Business Reviews (QBRs) with assigned clients, providing strategic insights, reviewing performance, identifying opportunities, and developing action plans that strengthen client partnerships and support long-term success. Partner with clients to identify opportunities for improvement by translating complex healthcare data into practical recommendations that support informed decision-making. Serve as a consultative resource to employers on strategies that optimize their health benefit programs and maximize the value of their Alliance partnership. Relationship Growth & Retention Build and maintain productive relationships with brokers, third-party administrators (TPAs), and other strategic partners to strengthen market presence and support membership retention. Identify opportunities to expand relationships through additional Alliance products, services, or covered employees when aligned with the employer's business objectives and best interests. Collaborate with the Director of Employer Engagement to develop and execute broker and TPA engagement strategies. Voice of the Customer & Market Intelligence Gather meaningful Voice of the Customer (VOC) feedback through active listening and ongoing client interactions. Share customer insights with internal stakeholders through both formal processes and collaborative discussions to support continuous improvement across Marketing, Product Development, Sales Operations, and other departments. Stay informed of healthcare, benefits, and competitive market trends, sharing relevant knowledge with colleagues to strengthen organizational expertise. Collaboration & Brand Representation Partner effectively with cross-functional teams - including Marketing, Provider Contracting, Network Development, Data Analytics, Claims, Customer Service, Accounting, and others - to deliver exceptional client service and resolve complex issues Represent The Alliance professionally in the marketplace through networking events, industry conferences, trade shows, client meetings, and presentations. Your Qualifications Bachelor's degree in business administration, marketing, human resources, or a related field required. Minimum of three years of experience in account management, client relationship management, or a related role within healthcare, employee benefits, or insurance. Demonstrated ability to build and maintain strong client relationships through consultative partnership, active listening, and exceptional customer service. Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex information to a variety of audiences both verbally and in writing. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills, with the ability to interpret healthcare data, reports, charts, and graphs and translate insights into meaningful recommendations for clients. Proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, collaborative environment while demonstrating initiative, creativity, and resourcefulness. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and customer relationship management (CRM) systems, with the ability to quickly learn new technologies. Valid Wisconsin driver's license with the ability to travel up to 30% throughout Wisconsin, including occasional overnight travel. Wisconsin Life and Health insurance license, or the ability to obtain one within six months of employment. Stand-Out From the Crowd Qualifications Experience consulting with employer groups on health benefits, self-funded health plans, or benefit plan design. Knowledge of the Wisconsin employer-sponsored healthcare market and healthcare purchasing strategies. Physical Aspects of the Job Ability to remain in a stationary position for extended periods, including while working at a computer or attending meetings. Ability to travel to and from client sites and events, including occasional overnight stays; up to 30% in-state travel is required. Ability to communicate effectively in person, by phone, and in writing. Ability to lift and transport materials (up to 25 pounds) occasionally for events or presentations. Visual acuity to read and interpret detailed data reports, charts, and graphs both digitally and in print. What to Know about the Job The Account Manager is responsible for developing, maintaining, and advising an assigned portfolio of employer clients by building trusted relationships, understanding each client's evolving needs, and connecting them with Alliance solutions that deliver meaningful value. This role serves as a strategic advisor to employers, brokers, and third-party administrators (TPAs), helping clients interpret healthcare data, optimize their benefit strategies, and maximize the value of their Alliance partnership. The Account Manager also plays a critical role in bringing the Voice of the Customer (VOC) into the organization, providing insights that influence marketing, product development, sales operations, and organizational strategy. Success in this role is measured through strong client retention, relationship growth, and identifying opportunities to expand services when they align with the employer's best interests
