Venus and Vulcan is a luxury gemstone and pearl jewelry brand based in San Diego. Founded by a geoscientist, the brand is built on a deep understanding of the stones themselves, and that expertise informs everything from design through to how each piece is presented. We are one of the top jewelry sellers on Poshmark, where we sell primarily through live streaming, and we also sell through our Shopify store, Etsy, and in person at markets and events throughout Southern California.

POSITION SUMMARY

Venus and Vulcan is seeking a Social Media & Content Coordinator to lead the brand's presence across social channels and sales platforms. Reporting directly to the Founder, this role combines content production, email marketing, catalog management and day-to-day support to the Founder. The role also includes documenting an ongoing mid-century home renovation as a brand content series, from pre-construction through completion.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Content and Social Media

• Develop and manage the content calendar across Instagram and TikTok
• Produce and edit short-form video and photography for product, studio and event content
• Promote live selling events across social channels
• Write captions consistent with the brand voice
• Manage community engagement across comments and direct messages
• Document the home renovation and develop it into an ongoing content series
• Support influencer and creator partnerships Email Marketing
• Produce and send a weekly Monday email to our customer list featuring new collections, new arrivals and upcoming events
• Maintain the email calendar and grow the subscriber list Product Listings and Catalog
• Photograph new inventory for Poshmark, Shopify and Etsy
• Write and optimize listing titles and descriptions
• Develop and maintain curated collections
• Maintain catalog consistency across all sales channels Founder Support
• Calendar management, scheduling and follow-up
• Vendor and partner coordination
• Preparation and logistics for markets, live shows and events

QUALIFICATIONS

• One to three years of experience producing content for a brand, agency or creator
• Demonstrated ability to shoot and edit short-form video; portfolio required
• Strong written communication, with the ability to maintain an established brand voice
• Professional, responsive communication with influencers, creators and vendors
• Comfortable appearing on camera
• Highly organized, with strong follow-through in a small-team environment
• Based in San Diego with reliable transportation
• Available for occasional evening and weekend events

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Experience in jewelry, fashion or luxury retail
• Experience with live selling, on Poshmark or another platform
• Email marketing experience (Klaviyo, Mailchimp or similar)
• Professional photography experience
• Familiarity with Shopify, Poshmark, Canva or Adobe Lightroom

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

• $26.00 per hour (approximately $54,000 annually), non-exempt
• 401(k) plan
• Two weeks paid time off, plus paid sick leave
