Booking 10-30 events and weddings a year across Iowa, Omaha, and Kansas City, we specialize in custom design, decor, and seamless event execution. We are looking for 1 to 3 creative, hands-on, and dependable individuals to join our team and help us build event magic from start to finish.
Position Overview:
As a Decor & Design Assistant, you won't just be standing on the sidelines—you will be an active part of the entire event journey. You will be assigned specific events to work start-to-finish, assisting with client consultations, prep, setup, teardown, and inventory management. If you are looking to gain real, hands-on experience in the wedding and event industry, build a design portfolio, or expand your skills with a supportive team, this is the perfect flexible role for you.
Key Responsibilities:
Consultations & Design:
Participate in client consultations and contribute creative ideas to help execute event design concepts.
Custom Creation & Design:
Assist with the design and creation of custom floral arrangements, backdrops, and other decor elements.
Prep & Inventory:
Pull, organize, clean, and pack decor inventory for upcoming setups.
Setup & Installation:
Assist with on-site installation of event decor, florals, backdrops, and lighting across event venues.
Tear-Down & Cleanup:
Execute post-event teardowns (often late nights or early mornings), ensuring items are safely dismantled and packed.
Inventory Management:
Return decor to storage, clean items, and reset inventory for the next event.
Position Requirements:
Physical Capability:
Ability to lift and carry up to 30 lbs.
Stamina:
Ability to stand, walk, bend, and stay on your feet for 6 to 10 hours on event days.
Reliability:
Strong punctuality, self-motivation, and dependability.
Flexibility:
Comfortable working non-standard hours, including late nights or early morning teardowns.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience or training in event planning, floristry, interior/graphic design, visual merchandising, or customer service. A strong eye for detail, spatial awareness, and aesthetics. Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

Intermittent, project-based part-time.
Event Work:
Primarily evenings and weekends (Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays), tied directly to scheduled events.
Consultations:
Client consultations are typically held during early evenings on weeknights.

Base Location:
Operates out of Pleasant Hill, Iowa.
Out-of-Town Events:
For travel outside the local area, we provide hotel accommodations, mileage reimbursement, and per-diem based on event distance and setup/teardown schedules.
Pay Structure:
$20.00 - $40.00 per hour (Paid per job project based on estimated hours; rates vary depending on experience, availability, and specific event requirements).
