Job Description

The Walden Woods Project (WWP) is a nonprofit organization located in Lincoln, MA that was founded in 1990. Through conservation, education, research and advocacy, WWP preserves the land, literature and legacy of Henry David Thoreau to foster an ethic of environmental stewardship and social responsibility. Our organization is seeking an experienced, highly-motivated, creative and technologically skilled digital marketing and communications coordinator. The successful candidate will possess 3-5 years of relevant experience, excellent writing skills, a background in capacity building through technological applications, and demonstrated success in a strong collaborative setting. Proficiency with electronic fundraising/promotion is essential. A keen interest in environmental issues and the writings of Thoreau is a plus. Prior nonprofit organization employment is highly desirable.
Primary Responsibilities:
Grow the organization's following on social media sites, including Facebook and Instagram; daily social media posting; Oversee donor management software; build digital fundraising pages and campaigns; Manage, update and develop content for The Walden Woods Project website; Develop electronic and written communications, including fundraising appeals; Support the organization's educational program participation and growth through effective promotion; Generate content for outreach to donors and the general public, including quarterly newsletters; Identify potential sources of financial support from foundations, corporations, federal/state government, and individuals; assist executive director with grant writing; Create graphic design of promotional materials; Salary range is $70,000-$75,000, based on experience.
