ABOUT SACA
Southern Anoka Community Assistance (SACA) is looking for a dedicated Community Market Lead to help maintain our Community Market program and keep the market and warehouse stocked, organized, and abundant. The Market Lead will work closely with volunteers and the Operations Director to keep communication lines flowing between the market and warehouse. The Market Lead directs warehouse volunteers, anticipates market needs, stocks racks, coolers, and shelves, and keeps the Community Market running swiftly and smoothly. This role is an excellent opportunity for someone who is looking for an active job, and is passionate about systems, processes, and working with volunteers to build on our mission to provide food and resources to those in need, while empowering dignity and independence to those we serve in our community.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Maintains a clean, neat, and volunteer-ready area in warehouse and Community Market. Directs and works alongside volunteers to promptly unpack, sort, and categorize food rescue deliveries
  • Directs and works alongside volunteers to sort and stock items in coolers, racks, produce bins to get ready for market opening
  • Assists and directs volunteers in keeping Community Market racks, produce bins, and coolers stocked and abundant throughout market hours
  • Works closely with Community Market Coordinator to assess and address market needs
  • Works closely with Operations Director and Warehouse Lead to maintain warehouse organization and inventory
  • Utilizes the "First In First Out" method to rotate stock, guarantee freshness, and reduce food waste.
  • Leads and accomplishes tasks as assigned by Operations Director
  • Engages with staff, volunteers, vendors and drivers with a positive attitude
  • Occasionally drives organizational vehicles to pick up donations
QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS
    Education:
    High school diploma, GED, or equivalent required e xperience: 6+ months Retail stocking experience preferred. 6+ months or customer service, supervisory, or working with volunteers preferred Forklift certification preferred or willingness to get certified within 90 days of starting
      Communication:
      Excellent speaking, writing, and interpersonal skills. Bilingual in Spanish is preferred.
      • Must be comfortable pulling, packing, stocking, loading and unloading product
      • Must be able to lift 50+ on a regular basis. Standing, bending, and lifting required. This is an active job!
