This position is an important part of preparing for and wrapping up our events. It involves picking up and returning rental equipment, linens, cakes, and other items on behalf of Scrape the Plate and making sure everything gets where it needs to go on time. What You'll Do Pick up rental equipment, linens, cakes, and other event-related items from vendors Return rental items following events Carefully transport and handle rental equipment and other items Confirm that items being picked up or returned are accounted for Communicate with rental agencies and vendors as needed Occasionally make pickups or returns during the week Assist with other event-related errands or tasks as needed What We're Looking For We're looking for someone who is: Extremely dependable and punctual Organized and detail-oriented Responsible and careful when handling equipment and event items Comfortable interacting professionally with vendors Able to work independently and manage a pickup/return schedule Able to lift, carry, and transport catering and rental items Has a valid driver's license and reliable transportation Comfortable driving a company vehicle or personal vehicle, as applicable Previous catering, event, delivery, or hospitality experience is helpful but not required Schedule & Hours This is a part-time position , typically requiring approximately 4-5 hours per week . Friday pickups are typical Monday returns are typical Occasional pickups or returns may be needed during the week Rental agencies generally require pickups and returns to occur between 8:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. Because of vendor hours, daytime weekday availability is required The schedule will vary based on our event calendar, with occasional changes depending on the needs of a particular event. Compensation Starting at $18.50/hour An Opportunity for Additional Hours This position can be combined with our Dishwasher & Catering Equipment Support and/or Facility Cleaning positions for someone interested in building a larger part-time schedule. The positions are not required to be held together . We're happy to consider candidates who are interested in only the Rentals position, as well as those who would like to combine responsibilities and hours.
