Job Description

Kent Jewelry is a specialized design house and custom jeweler that designs, builds, and completes all benchwork in-house. We seek a driven individual who will serve as our marketing and events coordinator.
This job will entail:
Designing high-quality fine jewelry pictures and videos and posting them on various platforms such as Instagram, Facebook, and others. Taking high-quality product photos and videos using company equipment to be used for both social media content and website products. Work with photography professionals to arrange modeling photo sessions. Produce engaging videos, posts, and long-form writing that educate the general public on the Kent Jewelry brand and the finer points of the jewelry industry. Create and maintain a calendar of tasks and deliverables for posting and content creation. Organizing and overseeing after-hours events to educate client base on jewelry or product offering. Overseeing website re-design. Work directly with customers to take in repairs, fulfill custom orders, and other tasks as assigned. It is strongly encouraged that candidates have an interest in and experience with social media management, content creation, photography, event organizing, and/or other skills required to complete the job. It should also be noted that Kent Jewelry is a small team and all employees are expected to take weekly rotations assisting customers in-store and online so that all staff have a thorough understanding of the company's internal workings.
About Kent's:
Kent Jewelry has been serving south-central Missouri for decades and opened a new location in downtown Kirwood in 2021. More than a typical fine jewelry store, Kent's focuses on designing and creating custom jewelry completely in-house. The company recently became Missouri's only Fairmined certified jeweler, meaning that our custom products are made with sustainably and ethically sourced materials. We are looking for a teammate who shares our values, will learn the ropes, and will work with us to continue to build the business beyond retail and into craftsmanship and artistry. The ideal candidate should, at a minimum:
  • Enjoy talking and engaging with customers from all backgrounds and walks of life.
  • Have an eye for design, quality, and attention to deal, and carry pride in one's work.
  • Be trustworthy with valuables and have a quick mind for basic math and calculation.
  • Possess an interest in fashion and jewelry, and/or an interest in art and making things.
  • Be comfortable with working on projects in a team while self-managing their responsibilities independently.
Compensation:
$18-28/hr depending on skill and experience level.
Hours:
Tuesday-Friday 9:30-5:30 and every other Saturday from 10:00 am - 2:00 pm. Students who may be navigating a class schedule are encouraged to still apply. Why work with us? You'll be working in a role with varied responsibilities and the ability to influence your work. Basic production must be met, but opportunities exist to develop your interests, to expand the shop's capabilities into new areas, reduce cost and production time, and learn on company time. Why not work with us? This position requires individuals who do not need to be micromanaged, are highly detail-oriented, self-starters, and capable of juggling multiple projects at once. If that does not sound like you then this may not be a great fit. Interested candidates should submit a resume and a brief synopsis describing why they feel they are a good fit for this position. Submission of portfolios, personal project summaries, or anything else that shows off talent and interests is encouraged if applicable. Candidates will be notified within 1-2 weeks of the application if they will be invited for an interview or not.
