Job Description
BlueSun has an excellent opportunity for a Marketing Strategist with the City of Tigard Wage $58.55 The Economic Development Marketing Strategist is a temporary position responsible for beginning the development of Tigard's Economic Development Marketing Strategy. This position work to complete the following deliverables:
- Completing an
Enhance Environmental Scan:
The work is to analyze and consolidate existing plans (i.e. Economic Strategic Plan, Equitable Engagement Plan), data and inventory and obtain additional data to move the project forward.- Identify stakeholders to collaborate in the Marketing Strategy Plan. This deliverable will outline where to get the necessary data in the development of the strategic plan and begin the discussions with key stakeholders.
- Develop the RFP and scope of the Marketing Strategy Plan.
- Develop detailed scope, schedules, milestones, budgets, and performance measures.
- Analyze and consolidate existing reports and data to synthesize information already in-hand and identify data gaps for collection.
- Coordinate discussions across city departments, community organizations, agency partners, and business stakeholders.
- Prepare project updates and recommendations.
- Facilitate meetings, workshops, interviews, and outreach activities with businesses, developers, commercial property owners, the Chamber of Commerce, Tigard Downtown Alliance, regional partners, and community organizations.
- Identify key stakeholders.
- Gather feedback and incorporate stakeholder perspectives into identified deliverables.
- Develop and execute targeted communications to attract consultant to submit for the RFP. Knowledge of
- Economic development marketing and business attraction strategies.
- Marketing, branding, advertising, and communications principles.
- Community engagement and stakeholder outreach practices built on the IAP2 spectrum.
- Project management methods and tools.
- Market research, data analysis, and performance measurement.
- Content strategy including digital communications, social media, web content, and marketing technologies (Preferred).
- Public-sector communications best practices and local government operations (Preferred). Ability to
- Analyze information and translate findings into actionable recommendations.
- Communicate effectively with diverse audiences.
- Facilitate meetings and engagement activities.
- Work independently while managing multiple priorities and deadlines.
