Be a self-starter, able to take initiative on individual projects; ability to accomplish projects with little supervision.
Proficient using the latest versions of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint. As well as mail merges, email, and web searches.
Occasional workdays with long hoursOccasional evenings and weekendsMust be able to endure extended periods of walking and/or standing.

POSITION SUMMARY
The Pennsylvania Horticultural Society seeks an Experience & Engagement intern who will gain hands-on professional development and valuable experience in event planning for a thriving nonprofit organization. Interns will be challenged with a fast-paced, quick turnaround experience on a hard-working team. They will assist with planning and coordination of the 2027 PHS Philadelphia Flower Show. The successful candidates should have the ability to manage administrative and logistical support of the Shows and Events staff in a busy special events environment and must be able to anticipate project needs, discern work priorities, and meet deadlines with little supervision. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Reporting to the Manager, Events Activations and Experiences and supporting the Manager, Events Programming and Engagement, the Experience & Engagement Intern will assist with the planning, coordination, and execution of a variety of Experience & Engagement (E&E) initiatives during the Flower Show. Responsibilities include supporting ancillary revenue and non-revenue generating activations such as Artisan Row, Bloom Bar, Butterflies Live, Early Morning Tours, Kids Cocoon, and Know to Grow, as well as special events including Flowers After Hours, the Opening Night Preview Party, and other day-to-day event operations, activations, and events as assigned. The Experience & Engagement Intern will also take a lead role in planning and coordinating one of the Flower Show's signature special events, Family Frolic. This includes recruiting and collaborating with family-focused organizations and community partners to create engaging activations for attendees. The Intern will work closely with the Marketing team to promote participating partners through the Flower Show website and social media channels and will help develop event logistics, timelines, and supporting documentation for PHS staff. Working under the guidance of the Experience & Engagement team, the Intern will play an active role in the successful execution of these programs and events. The position will also collaborate with volunteers before and during the Flower Show to help ensure a positive experience for participants, partners, and guests. In advance of the Show, the Intern will provide support for the annual Flower Show press conference and other PHS events as needed.EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS REQUIRED

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORKING
CONDITIONS/STIPENDJanuary 11, 2027 April 23, 2027. Full time at 40 hours/week preferred.
