Position Summary Opgov.news is seeking a dynamic and results-driven Advertising Sales Executive to generate advertising revenue for our newspaper, website, newsletters, sponsored content, events, and digital media platforms. The ideal candidate will identify potential advertisers, build long-term relationships, and develop customized advertising solutions that help clients reach government leaders, business professionals, community organizations, and engaged citizens. Key ResponsibilitiesBusiness Development & Sales Identify and prospect new advertisers across various industries including: Government contractors Technology companies Healthcare organizations Educational institutions Nonprofits Financial services Real estate and development firms Sustainability and environmental organizations Conduct outbound sales through phone calls, email campaigns, networking events, and social media outreach. Schedule and conduct sales presentations with prospective clients. Build and maintain a strong sales pipeline. Advertising Solutions Sell advertising packages across: Print newspaper ads Website banner ads Sponsored articles Newsletter sponsorships Event sponsorships Video advertising Social media promotions Develop customized advertising proposals based on client objectives and budgets. Explain audience demographics, reach, and engagement metrics to potential advertisers. Account Management Maintain strong relationships with existing advertisers. Ensure client satisfaction and campaign performance. Coordinate with editorial, design, and marketing teams to deliver advertising campaigns. Monitor campaign results and provide performance reports. Revenue Growth Meet and exceed monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets. Identify upselling and cross-selling opportunities. Track sales activities using CRM software. Provide market intelligence and competitor analysis. QualificationsRequired 2+ years of sales, advertising sales, media sales, business development, or related experience. Excellent communication and presentation skills. Strong negotiation and closing abilities. Self-motivated and goal-oriented. Ability to work independently and manage multiple accounts. Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, and CRM systems. Preferred Experience selling newspapers, magazines, digital media, or online advertising. Existing network of business, nonprofit, or government-related contacts. Understanding of digital marketing and advertising analytics. Experience with sponsorship sales and event marketing.
