Our chews are either air dried, oven baked, freeze dried, or slowly dehydrated at low temperatures for up to 48 hours to naturally preserve nutrients and flavor. Current proteins include lamb, beef, duck, chicken, salmon, cod, and rabbit, with exciting exotic additions like bison, ostrich, quail, goat, goose, and alligator also available. Position Overview We are seeking a Market Retail Sales Lead who thrives in active, hands-on environments and enjoys engaging directly with customers, and can "lead" manage our booth alone while we operate in other areas of town. This position is not based in a brick-and-mortar store; it requires setting up and operating a mobile booth outdoors, maintaining a professional presentation, and representing the brand with energy, integrity, and enthusiasm. The ideal candidate is punctual, dependable, and confident in both sales and physical setup. This is a role for someone who enjoys being on their feet, communicating with customers, and working independently while maintaining the highest standards of professionalism. The goal is that this person, after training and the "probationary" period, will be operating autonomously and independently at markets, and even applying to markets and posting on our social media pages. We are launching an e-commerce site in the next 2-3 weeks, and this person will be integral in keeping the social media pages actively pushing our markets, our website orders, and our brand overall. Applying for markets and actively looking for better opportunities, events, and managing the monthly calendars will be important.

NOTE:

Lead will start off as a regular associate for 4 markets (2-3 weeks) during the training and probationary period and then get moved up to lead after the 4th market. Associates get paid $10.00/hr and Leads get paid $13.00/hr. If candidate has previous farmers market experience AND retail experience combined, they will start at $13.00/hr from the very first market. Key Responsibilities Set up and tear down market canopy, tables, displays, and product lines (must be able to complete setup within 45 minutes; requires moderate or heavy lifting) Operate mobile retail booth at scheduled markets and events throughout the San Antonio area Engage with customers to explain product benefits, ingredients, and sourcing Handle transactions accurately via POS (cash, card, and digital payments) Maintain booth appearance in accordance with company brand standards Monitor inventory levels and communicate restock needs to management Represent the company professionally at all times while working in public spaces and community events Qualifications Must have a Passion for Pet Nutrition or animal welfare Must be available Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays for in-person market work and 2 days during the week to assist with social media posting remotely, from home Comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions Ability to lift up to 50lbs and stand for extended periods Excellent communication and customer service skills Dependable, professional, and self-motivated with strong attention to detail Prior experience in sales, event coordination, or retail Must be social enough to talk to people continuously for select time frames Must be comfortable in filling our applications and handling emails professionally Must be proficient in time management and event planning Why Join Theddy's Pet Mercantile Competitive hourly pay with potential for commission Employee discounts on all products Ongoing sponsored education in pet nutrition Supportive, small-business team culture
