Job Description

Located in the heart of the central business district and adjacent to the City of Norfolk's world-class waterfront and festival site, Waterside District is a central gathering place for local residents and visitors. Digital Marketing Coordinator Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Execute daily digital media content in the areas of promotion, engagement, and conversion. Publish and maintain content in accordance with brand guidelines and as outlined in the Master Marketing Plan and District Marketing Calendar. Respond to direct messages and comments on social platforms within 24 hours of receipt. Execute and manage email communications for the District or venue, as applicable, including newsletters and broadcast email campaigns Maintain and update website content through the content management system, including events, weekly promotions, menus, photo galleries, and general site information (contact details, hours of operation, FAQs, inquiry forms, and news content). Ensure content accuracy, timeliness, and consistency across platforms. Capture digital content for social media and post in real time during events. Follow established protocols for tagging sponsors and vendors as directed by the Director of Marketing. Provide proof of performance and fulfillment as it pertains to social media and other digital platforms. Assist in supporting guest database growth through contests, promotions, campaigns, and events as assigned.
Digital Marketing Coordinator Qualifications:
High School diploma or equivalent preferred, plus at least one year experience in a customer service or hospitality related field. Strong written and oral communication skills. Available to work flexible hours including holidays, weekends, and evenings. Weekends will be required as part of the routine schedule. Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office, Adobe Photoshop, and Illustrator Experience with social media platforms, including but not limited to Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, TikTok, Pinterest, Snapchat, LinkedIn, etc. Able to work well in a team setting or independently. Ability to work well under deadlines and perform multiple tasks effectively and concurrently with a strong attention to detail. Must be self-motivated, passionate, inventive, and energetic. Must be organized, independent and be able to multitask. Experience in hospitality and / or entertainment.
