Sales, Merchandisers, (with cross-functional support to Warehouse and Drivers)
POSITION PURPOSE
The Sales Manager is responsible for leading and executing all sales, marketing, and On-Premise operations within the Aurora Beverage Co. (DBA Ketchikan Soda Works) territory, driving growth across all account channels by maximizing sales volume, profitability, and market share. This role provides leadership and oversight to the sales and merchandising team, ensuring they are well-trained, understand their responsibilities, and perform effectively while adhering to company merchandising standards, marketing programs, and promotional initiatives. The Sales Manager builds and maintains strong customer relationships, identifies and develops new business opportunities, and oversees cold drink equipment placement to support growth and enhance brand visibility.
VITAL FUNCTIONS AND MAJOR DUTIES
1. Sales & Account Management
  • Lead execution of sales, pricing, and marketing programs across all account channels
  • Drive growth through new business development and account expansion
  • Manage key accounts and maintain strong customer relationships
  • Ensure consistent service and merchandising standards 2. Team Leadership & Development
  • Supervise, coach, and develop sales and merchandising teams; Oversee drivers to support sales activities and customer service o Check-In/Check-Out procedures are overseen by Warehouse Manager
  • Set performance expectations and conduct regular evaluations of staff
  • Provide ongoing training and support to drive company success 3. Fountain & On-Premise Equipment Management
  • Oversee cold drink, fountain, and promotional equipment deployment
  • Ensure proper ROI on equipment placement
  • Oversee efficient field operations and inventory management through service, delivery and warehousing. 4. Customer & Merchandising Execution
  • Ensure promotional programs and merchandising standards are properly executed
  • Maintain strong communication with customers across all sales channels (Grocery, Convenience and On-Premise).
  • Resolve issues quickly to support customer satisfaction and retention 5. Operations & Financial Management
  • Manage expenses and support company budgeting efforts
  • Track sales performance, margins, and key metrics across all sales channels
  • Responsible for providing reports and updates to leadership on a regular basis 6. Performance Measurements
  • Achievement of sales volume and margin goals
  • Growth of existing accounts and development of new business
  • Customer satisfaction, retention, and service responsiveness
  • Execution of merchandising standards and promotional programs
  • Team performance, engagement, and development
  • Effective management of departmental expenses and budget
Qualifications Education:
High school diploma or equivalent required, minimum 2-year college degree preferred.
Experience:
5+ years of sales experience; leadership experience preferred.
Skills/Abilities:
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
  • Proven ability to drive sales and build customer relationships
  • Industry experience in beverage, grocery, or convenience preferred
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and ability to learn new technology
  • Valid driver's license, clean driving record, and the ability to travel within territory Working Environment & Conditions
  • Regular work is performed in retail stores, warehouses, and outdoor delivery areas
  • Work may occur in varying weather conditions, including rain & cold temperatures
  • Schedule may include early mornings, occasional evenings, weekends, or holidays based on business needs
  • Travel within franchise area is required.
(travel outside of Ketchikan, but within franchise territory, will be on an agreed upon schedule due to air travel needed).
