- $80,000 OTE above includes base salary and commissions on existing (maintenance) accounts.
New business opened during your tenure is commissions at a higher rate and is not included in OTE figures above. Commission plan has no cap. Commission is paid quarterly. Monthly vehicle/car allowance provided. Gas card provided. Per diem on overnight stays. About the Role Safety Shoe Distributors is a family-owned, Gulf Coast-based distributor of occupational safety footwear with 45+ years in business. We're looking for a driven, relationship-focused sales professional to own our Alabama territory. You'll manage and grow an existing book of commercial and industrial accounts while actively prospecting for new business across the state. Your customers are safety managers, plant supervisors, and procurement teams at manufacturing, industrial, and construction sites: people who depend on you to keep their workforce protected and PPE-compliant. You'll be supported by a retail store and our
ShoeMobiles:
these are our custom-outfitted mobile shoe stores, that visit customer worksites, to provide on-site safety footwear fitting and fulfillment. You are the relationship behind those accounts. The trucks and store handle the service; you drive the growth. Key Responsibilities Own and grow a portfolio of active industrial and commercial accounts across Alabama Prospect and develop new accounts through cold outreach, site visits, and referrals Present and sell safety footwear programs tailored to each customer's workforce and compliance needs Manage and support your ShoeMobiles and Retail Storefront in your district. Your Retail Storefront and attached warehouse is homebase. You will be expected to interface with this location, and its attached warehouse, for familiarity with product and inventory levels, on a semi-regular basis. Coordinate with operations to ensure accounts are being serviced properly and on schedule Resolve customer issues quickly and professionally to protect long-term relationships Track pipeline activity and performance against annual sales targets Attend on-site truck events periodically

- to understand the customer experience firsthand Qualifications & Skills Proven outside sales experience, preferably in industrial, manufacturing, or PPE markets Strong prospecting skills
- you're comfortable cold calling and building a pipeline from scratch Confident presenter to plant managers, safety directors, and procurement contacts Self-managed and organized; this territory operates largely independently Experience managing or mentoring a small field team is a plus Basic CRM or digital tools familiarity (we'll train you on our systems) Willingness to occasionally accommodate early-morning customer site schedules Clean driving record; some overnight travel required (approximately 2 nights per month) Benefits Health, dental, and vision insurance Life insurance 401(k) with company matching Paid time off Monthly vehicle allowance Company gas card Per diem on overnight travel
