Roles & Responsibilities About This Role We're looking for a Business Development Manager who opens doors and closes deals. At The Gap People (TGP), we are a Singapore-based social media agency where strategic storytelling meets social-first execution. We turn insights into content that drives measurable results. In this role, you'll build our new business pipeline from the ground up — finding the right prospects, starting the conversation, and owning the relationship until the ink is dry. You'll have a strong pitch team behind you to help win the business, but we need you to put us in front of the right people. If you've done this before — walked into a market cold andbuilt something through your own initiative — keep reading. What You'll Be Doing
Find and close new, high-value social media retainer accounts across key sectors (such as Fintech, NPOs, Medical/Public Health and more)
Identify decision-makers, craft targeted outreach, and get them to reply
Turn replies into qualified meetings and manage the momentum through to close
Work with our MD and pitch team to develop compelling proposals for prospects
Maintain a clean, honest pipeline and keep score on your own progress Who You Are You are proactive, self-directed, and accountable for outcomes.
You're equally comfortable with a CMO and a cold prospect. You understand trust-based selling — persistent without being pushy. You thrive in fast-moving, ambiguous environments without needing perfect systems. You do real research before reaching out. And you're comfortable balancing strategic thinking with hands-on execution. Skills & Experience
Proven track record in B2B business development, ideally in marketing services, media, or advertising
Familiar with Singapore's business landscape; regionalSEA experience is a strong advantage
Strong interpersonal and communication skills — you can hold a room and build trust quickly
Experience managing a sales pipeline and reporting on progress
Self-starter who can operate independently with minimal supervision
Degree in Business, Marketing, or Communications preferred
