$125,000 base salary + performance incentives of up to $50,000 annually Thrive Healthcare is a rapidly growing, technology-focused home health agency serving Los Angeles. Our mission is to bring healthcare home by combining excellent clinical care, strong referral relationships, and smart technology. We are seeking an experienced Director of Business Development with a proven track record selling healthcare services directly to hospitals in Los Angeles . Prior experience selling to hospitals in the Los Angeles market is required. Candidates must have experience developing referral relationships with Los Angeles hospital case managers, discharge planners, social workers, nurses, administrators, or other hospital-based referral decision-makers. This is not an entry-level healthcare sales position. We are looking for someone who already understands how to navigate Los Angeles hospitals , build relationships with hospital case-management teams, and convert those relationships into consistent patient referrals. You will:
Develop referral relationships with Los Angeles hospital case managers, discharge planners, social workers, nurses, physicians, and administrators Conduct regular in-person visits to hospitals throughout Los Angeles Prospect for and develop new hospital referral accounts Identify and build relationships with key referral decision-makers Navigate hospital departments and organizational structures to gain access to case-management and discharge-planning teams Build long-term relationships that generate consistent home health referrals Maintain regular contact with established referral sources Increase referral volume from existing hospital relationships Develop new territories and referral channels Track referral activity, relationship development, and business development results Represent Thrive Healthcare professionally with hospital staff and other healthcare partners This position requires someone who is comfortable walking into Los Angeles hospitals, introducing themselves to case-management teams, following up persistently, and building referral relationships over time . Beyond the Referral This is a sales-driven business development position , but our relationships do not end when a patient is referred. The Director of Business Development will also help ensure that referral partners have an excellent experience working with Thrive.
Responsibilities include:
Continuous Coordination:
Serve as a key point of contact for hospital case managers and referral partners
Referral Follow-Up:
Ensure referral sources receive timely updates regarding admission status and any barriers to start of care
Paperwork & Documentation:
Help facilitate follow-up with physicians, nurses, and office staff for required Physician Orders, Plans of Care, signatures, and supporting documentation Closing the
Communication Loop:
Help ensure referral partners are appropriately informed about significant patient developments or re-hospitalizations
Clinical Intake & Vetting:
Gather sufficient clinical information and coordinate with our Director of Nursing to determine whether referrals are clinically appropriate and staffable
Relationship Retention:

Technology + Growth Focus Thrive Healthcare is a technology-driven agency that continuously improves its referral systems, workflows, and operations. The Director of Business Development will work directly with the owner of the agency , who is actively involved in business development, marketing, operations, and technology initiatives. You do not need to be technical, but you must be comfortable learning new software, working with electronic referral systems, and adapting to new processes .

Qualified candidates must have:
Prior experience selling healthcare services to hospitals in Los Angeles Direct experience working with Los Angeles hospital case managers, discharge planners, social workers, or similar hospital-based referral sources Experience conducting in-person sales calls at Los Angeles hospitals A demonstrated ability to generate patient referrals from hospital relationships Knowledge of how Los Angeles hospital referral and discharge-planning teams operate Proven success developing new hospital accounts and referral relationships Strong sales, negotiation, communication, and relationship-building skills Strong follow-up and account-management skills Excellent organization, responsiveness, persistence, and accountability Experience in home health, hospice, home care, skilled nursing, rehabilitation, DME, infusion, or another healthcare business that receives hospital referrals is strongly preferred. Applicants without direct experience selling to hospitals in Los Angeles will not be considered for this position. A clinical license is not required.
