The Associate Director of Catering is responsible for driving revenue growth and overseeing the successful execution of catering sales, with a primary focus on the wedding and social market. This leadership role is dedicated to expanding market share, cultivating client relationships, and ensuring exceptional service delivery from initial inquiry through event execution.
What you will be doing:
Reporting to the Director, Sales & Catering, responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following:
Key Responsibilities:
Lead and grow the wedding, social, and special event segments, developing strategies to maximize revenue and profitability. Build and maintain strong relationships with wedding planners, social event organizers, community partners, and prospective clients. Oversee the sales process for weddings and social events, including site inspections, proposal development, contract negotiations, and event planning. Ensure a seamless and elevated client experience throughout the planning and execution process. Collaborate closely with hotel departments, including Operations, Culinary, Banquets, and Revenue Management, to ensure successful event delivery. Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and industry developments to identify new business opportunities. Prepare forecasts, sales reports, and revenue projections for Director of Sales Coach, mentor, and support team members to achieve individual and departmental goals.
Leadership Responsibilities:
The Associate Director of Catering will directly supervise and provide leadership to: Corporate Catering Manager Social Catering Coordinator This role is responsible for fostering a high-performing team culture, providing ongoing training and development, and ensuring accountability for sales performance and client satisfaction.
Qualifications:
Proven experience in catering sales, wedding sales, hospitality sales, or event management. Strong leadership, communication, and relationship-building skills. Demonstrated ability to achieve revenue goals and drive market growth. Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. Knowledge of hotel catering operations, event planning, and contract negotiation. Passion for delivering exceptional guest experiences and creating memorable events.
Work Schedule & Availability:
This position requires flexible work schedule based on business demands and client needs. The Associate Director of Catering is expected to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as necessary to support site inspections, client meetings, weddings, social events, and other hotel-related activities. Attendance during peak event periods is essential to ensure exceptional service delivery and client satisfaction.
