Daiwa products are distributed throughout the United States, Canada, Central America, and South America. We are seeking an experienced and motivated Regional Sales Manager to lead sales growth and account management efforts across designated Northern U.S. territories. This position plays a key leadership role in developing strategic partnerships, supporting independent sales representatives, and driving revenue growth while maintaining Daiwa's brand standards and customer relationships. Position Summary The Regional Sales Manager is responsible for managing regional sales activities, supporting independent sales representatives and distribution partners, and expanding business relationships with key retailers and distributors. This role requires strong business acumen, strategic planning, communication, and analytical skills, along with the ability to travel extensively throughout the assigned territory. The ideal candidate will have experience in wholesale distribution, sporting goods, outdoor recreation, or related industries and possess the ability to develop long-term customer relationships while identifying market opportunities and sales trends. Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Manage, support, and develop independent sales representatives and regional distribution partners within assigned territories.
  • Build and maintain strong professional relationships with key retailers, distributors, and strategic accounts.
  • Develop and execute territory sales strategies to achieve sales goals, revenue targets, and market growth objectives.
  • Prepare and maintain monthly, quarterly, and annual sales forecasts for assigned territories and accounts.
  • Analyze market trends, competitive activity, customer buying patterns, and inventory levels to identify growth opportunities.
  • Coordinate promotional programs, product launches, and marketing initiatives to support regional sales objectives.
  • Monitor inventory movement and communicate product demand trends to internal departments.
  • Provide regular updates and reports to management regarding territory performance, sales activities, customer feedback, and competitive conditions.
  • Travel with independent sales representatives to conduct customer visits, training sessions, retail support, trade shows, and consumer events.
  • Maintain a high level of professionalism and customer service while representing the company in the field and at industry events.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with sales, marketing, customer service, operations, and management teams to support business objectives.
  • Maintain compliance with company policies, procedures, and ethical business standards.
  • Perform additional duties and special projects as assigned.
Supervisory Responsibilities This position may provide direction and support to independent sales representatives, distributors, and regional partners but does not directly supervise employees. Confidentiality This position routinely handles confidential and proprietary business information, including sales data, pricing, product information, marketing strategies, and customer account information. Employees are expected to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound business judgment at all times. Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Sales, or related field preferred; equivalent combination of education and relevant experience may be considered. Minimum of 3-5 years of sales management, territory management, or related business development experience. Experience managing dealer networks, distributors, or independent sales representatives preferred. Strong understanding of sales forecasting, territory planning, and account management. Excellent verbal, written, presentation, and interpersonal communication skills. Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities. Ability to work independently while effectively managing multiple priorities and deadlines. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint. Experience using ERP or CRM systems such as Microsoft Dynamics NAV/Navision preferred. Knowledge of the fishing, outdoor recreation, or sporting goods industry is a plus. Physical Requirements The physical demands described here are representative of those required to successfully perform the essential functions of this position. Ability to travel by automobile and air transportation as required. Work Environment The work environment is primarily in office M-F 7:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m. at 20155 Ellipse, Foothill Ranch, CA with regular travel to customer locations, trade shows, and industry events. Travel Requirements Ability to travel up to 50% of the time, including overnight and occasional weekend travel. Valid driver's license and ability to maintain insurable driving status required.
