The Paving Division of Waters Construction Company is seeking a motivated, self-starting business to business professional to join our team. The Sales Manager will cover the Hartford, Tolland, and Windham counties of Connecticut. Relationships are key in this business! Bring your sales expertise and we will teach you the rest! This is a fast-paced, high-functioning job. The successful candidate for Waters Paving will: Have business to business experience sales and/or service. Be responsible for Hartford, Tolland and Windham counties. Promptly follow-up on leads within 24 to 48 hours and is willing to answer client questions, inquiries and concerns. Will negotiate a project until the final decision by customer is reached. Be a customer advocate within the Waters Organization. Follow all receivable and interact with customers until job is complete and payment is collected. Be proficient in basic geometry; understands area, depth, and volume. Understands profit margins, overhead costs, market pricing. Uses efficient time management to prioritize efforts on each project, both bidding and executing projects. Use Microsoft Word and Excel efficiently. Be a team player. Have a Can-Do attitude. Be a problem solver and multi-tasker. Waters will bring you training and education in: Complete knowledge of the products and services being sold and delivered. How to complete a quantity take-off from engineered drawings, using software provided. Knowledge on equipment and labor productivities to produce a quality estimate. How to manipulate data to formulate accurate estimates. To inspect the job site prior to mobilizing equipment to insure that the project is ready to be paved. Proactively help the paving superintendent in setting up and running paving projects. The review of terms and conditions of contracts and sub-contracts. Concepts of sales tax and laws which enable collections.
