In this role you will be responsible for developing and fostering new group business in various market segments into the hotel to increase sales. We are seeking a highly motivated professional to be responsible as one of the associates in our sales department. Essential Functions Responsible for prospecting new group business, entertaining, and maintaining relationships with existing accounts to meeting and exceed revenue goals in rooms, food, beverage, audio visual and meeting room rental. Develops and fosters business in the hotel's guest rooms, meeting and event space for in-house groups, manages accounts, through telephone prospecting, outside sales calls, site inspections, written communication, FAM Trips, tradeshows, community events, networking, and entertainment. Develops effective group sales plans. Prepares and presents effective proposals, maintains well organized verbal and written communication, uses negotiating skills and creative selling abilities to close on business and negotiate contracts. Maintains all files with current trace dates, accurate histories, and all relevant information regarding booking activities. Negotiate guest room rates, meeting room rental, function space, and/or hotel services within approved booking guidelines. Understands the overall market - competitors' strengths and weaknesses, economic trends, supply and demand. Travel as needed complete personal sales calls and presentations to customers within market deployment and attend trade shows as needed. Develops relationships within industry community to strengthen and expand customer base for in-house groups and events sales opportunities. Follow up with clients regularly during and after departure to ensure satisfaction and secure future bookings. Manages and develops relationships with key internal and external stakeholders. Other duties as assigned. Competencies Organized with attention to detail. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Positive attitude and ability to collaborate with team. Ability to operate with a high level of confidentiality. Qualifications Highschool diploma or equivalent, Degree in Hospitality management preferred. Three to five years' experience in a service industry, preferably in the hospitality industry. Sales experience, Group Sales preferred. Computer and technical skills Experience with Opera Cloud, Hotsos helpful Must be able to work all shifts including, AM's, PM's, weekends, and holidays to accommodate business demand levels. Comply with attendance rules and be available to work on a regular basis Ability to travel. Working Conditions & Physical Requirements prolonged standing and moving around, frequent bending, kneeling, pushing, pulling and lifting. Ability to lift up to 50lbs and stand for long periods of time. Work schedules vary depending on the needs of the business.
