The Director of Sales will be responsible for driving revenue growth, developing new business, maintaining strong client relationships, and positioning the hotel as a preferred choice within the local and regional market. This is a hands-on outside sales leadership position for someone who enjoys building relationships, generating new business, networking within the community, and exceeding sales goals. Key Responsibilities Develop and execute sales strategies to achieve or exceed the hotel's budgeted revenue and sales goals. Identify and pursue new business opportunities through cold calling, prospecting, networking, internet marketing, telephone solicitation, and community involvement. Maintain a minimum of 15 outside sales contacts per week within the assigned market. Build and maintain strong relationships with corporate accounts, group clients, meeting planners, local businesses, and community organizations. Regularly visit prospective and existing clients to develop and maintain business relationships. Research prospective clients and understand their business needs in order to present effective, customized proposals. Prepare and submit timely and accurate sales reports, forecasts, and revenue plans. Monitor competitor activity, market trends, and local business opportunities. Work closely with the General Manager and Revenue Manager to identify opportunities to maximize RevPAR and overall hotel revenue. Recommend appropriate rate strategies and communicate sales opportunities to hotel leadership and corporate management. Ensure negotiated contracts and business arrangements are realistic, profitable, and operationally achievable. Coordinate closely with hotel operations to ensure all details of new business are properly communicated and executed. Maintain ongoing communication with clients after contracts are established to encourage repeat business and long-term relationships. Analyze sales statistics and performance data to identify opportunities, challenges, and areas for improvement. Maximize available brand marketing tools, reservation systems, Global Distribution Systems (GDS), and internet resources to drive room revenue. Participate actively in local community organizations, events, networking groups, and business associations. Refer qualified business opportunities to other HOS Management sister properties when appropriate. Assist with motivating and supporting hotel team members through a positive, professional, and collaborative approach. Maintain a strong commitment to delivering exceptional guest service. Assist other HOS Management properties with sales initiatives when directed. Perform other reasonable duties as assigned by the Director of Operations or HOS Management leadership. Preferred qualifications include:
Previous hotel sales, hospitality, or related industry experience. Previous management or senior supervisory experience preferred. Proven track record of achieving sales goals and generating new business. Strong prospecting, networking, negotiation, and closing skills. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Professional presentation and the ability to confidently conduct meetings and presentations. Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple accounts and priorities. Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with hotel and corporate leadership. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office. Ability to learn and effectively use hotel PMS, reservation, and brand systems. Basic mathematical and financial skills. Valid driver's license and ability to travel throughout the assigned local market. The Successful Candidate Will Be Results-driven and motivated by achieving and exceeding sales goals. Proactive in finding and pursuing new business. Highly organized and responsive to clients and hotel leadership. Community-minded with a strong interest in local networking and relationship building. Professional and confident when representing the hotel. Collaborative and able to work effectively with the General Manager, Revenue Manager, corporate leadership, and hotel operations team. Customer-focused , with a commitment to providing 100% service to hotel guests and clients. Physical & Work Requirements This position requires frequent local travel throughout the assigned market and participation in meetings, networking events, training, seminars, conferences, and community events. The position may require frequent walking, standing, bending, and climbing stairs, as well as occasional lifting or moving of items up to 50 pounds.
