Job Description Must Be a Hawaii Resident The Manager of Marketing & Business Development continuously grows business revenues by using skillful sourcing and sales closing techniques. The Professional develops and maintains long term revenues for the company by ensuring that the customers' needs are satisfied acting as the liaison between the customer and the internal company service providers on a continuous basis. Maintains customer network in Local and Mainland industry marketsComputer skills in Word, Excel, and company softwareGets involved with operations to learn or assist when necessaryExcellent communication skills both verbal and writtenGood listening skills.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Negotiates service contracts, rates, and optimizes price changes through knowledge of costs and understanding of pricing strategies. Maintains knowledge of industry trends, customer demographics, best business practices, and maintains competitive advantage. Maintains knowledge of company's products and services and suggestively sells to help meet the needs of customers. Effectively communicates with customers to understand their service issues. Acts as liaison between customers and HTC internal departments and keeps HTC personnel informed of significant customer events. Maintains knowledge in market trends to address any threats and take advantage of any opportunities. Also provides input for development of new markets/business. Actively promotes company and assists with the development of sales packages. Some travel may be required for customer relations and business development.OTHER FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Assumes duties of Vice President of Marketing & Business Development during his/her absence. Assists with customer contract negotiations and review; maintains customer agreements and contracts. Generates sales reports and maintains appropriate historical data. Tracks account progress, changes, and evaluate account profitability. Performs other duties, tasks, or projects as assigned.QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration from accredited college/university highly desired.Experience:
5 plus years in logistics/supply chain management.Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
Logistics industry knowledgeTariff knowledge in trucking, warehousing, ocean, inter-isle, inter-modal, etc. highly desired.Maintains customer network in Local and Mainland industry marketsComputer skills in Word, Excel, and company softwareGets involved with operations to learn or assist when necessaryExcellent communication skills both verbal and writtenGood listening skills.
